Here’s the reality: the country doesn’t care enough about this. Republicans and the NRA know they just have to buy 7-10 days and everyone moves on. When asked, of course people say they want gun control, but it’s nobody’s #1 issue.

15 Senate Democrats voted against gun control after Sandy Hook. If we couldn’t get it then, we are never going to get it.

Certainly true in the past, not sure that’s so true now. It’s a pretty big issue with suburban women, and it’s just gaining steam with them. I think politicians are going to start paying the price for suckling at the NRA’s teat.

People don’t care because you can’t care. The NRA sees its job as making people not care. Republicans have the country by the balls and are laughing about it, and so everyone else just slinks back and cries. It isn’t because people don’t want something done but because so many Republican politicians are terrified of the NRA and terrified of their FOX NEWS energized bat-crazy base.

Literally we need to get tens of thousands - hundreds of thousands - of liberals showing up at gun ranges in big groups and do nothing but practice their shooting. While wearing rainbow arm bands. March on their state capitals in support of gun rights while waving rainbow flags. Conservatives are going to care really really quickly when that happens.
