All Things Star Trek - The General (Chang) Thread

By the prophets, that is so gorgeous. I wish I could justify one without my wife murdering me.

I more or less melted with these replica tricorders:

My wife asked me if the tricorder could do anything, measure temperature or light or something?
Well, if the tricorder would really be some sort of tool, other regulations would apply.
It seems so strange to me: we have the technology to make something useful and turn science fiction into some kind of reality. And it is not possible because of some law.

Edit: how do you embed a youtube video in a post like Telefrog??
Edit2: Thanks Telefrog!

The refit and the original are beautiful models. It’s not even a temptation for me, both for space and budgetary reasons, but those would be really sweet to own.

I just click the share button in YouTube and paste that into the post here.

I have the 3-foot TOS ship. My inner 8-year-old has declared that I’ve won life, and everything else is gravy.

Not gonna get the refit because space and money, but it certainly is a thing of beauty.

I’m not sure that is the case. I mean unless you are talking about calibrated/certified meters, there isn’t much regulation there I’m aware of.

BUT I think the challenge is the IP owner, and is there a market for it. The IP owners have to sign off on everything. Do they want to have their IP associated with this. Any would enough people want to buy it to make it worthwhile.

Oh no!!

He made it through the Bell Riots at least.

He will always be best known for Time Tunnel to me…

There are only 2 holographic ST characters I like: The Doctor and Vic Fontaine. I cringe at basically any other holodeck fueled episode. James Darren made Vic so much fun.

James Darren also put me onto the 60s crooners…Sinatra and the Rat Pack and oh so many more. Just great music.

Those are two great holographic characters. You should watch ST: Prodigy, holographic Janeway is a great character too.

Prodigy is on my to-do list!

Oh neat!

Huh, they even squeezed in Chris Hemsworth’s five seconds as a starship captain from Abrams’s Star Trek.

Yeah, that was a weird one. Likely there for the dialogue. Although, that prologue to the Kelvin ST was pretty much my favourite intro of any of the ST films.

Hey, he was captain of a starship for 12 minutes and saved 800 lives.

Here’s another one for you @BrianRubin
