Android phone for iOS lovers: the GooPhone

Literally everybody I know who owns/owned an iphone4/4s without a case broke it. Every single person.

wow, that’s a consistent group of clumsy people!
snarkiness aside, I’m the guy wearing his earphones everywhere so don’t run into situations where I might drop the pone while raising it to my ear or something.

numerous products with soft rubber/epoxy coating end up covered in dust and small white particles after extended use.

I seriously have no idea what you are talking about here. I do not mean this as an insult, or to say you are a big fat liar cat, but I seriously do not understand what you mean.

I mean, I don’t even understand what would result in the effect you describe. My phones have never ended up covered in dust or white particles. I have to assume that you have lots of plastic stuff that you interact with constantly on a daily basis… it’s not all covered in dust and stuff, is it?

What are you suggesting makes plastic things attract dust and junk? Static charge or something?

Like I said… on my nexus 7, it’s the glass that gets smudged. The back of it looks and feels like a piece of leather.

here are examples from a quick google image search:

I have no idea what that first image is, but the second one is just dust. It has nothing to do with it being plastic. It’s just the fact that the thing (in that case, it appears to be a monitor?) is sitting around stationary for long periods of time.

My phone doesn’t get dusty, because it never sits around… but if I just sat it on my desk for months at a time, it would get dusty even if it were made of metal.

Dust sticks to plastic due to static electricity. It doesn’t stick to metal, you can just brush it right off. Not to imply that this is a big deal or anything, it certainly isn’t.

This GooPhone is garbage.

exactly. Not a big deal, except for the fact that it makes plastic look cheap in comparison to aluminum.

Come on now. Aren’t you at least a little bit glad you can buy a nice looking knock off when you are stranded in a hostile, foreign country where a grey market iphone 5 goes for $950?

And many of us do not. The same goes for real leather vs. synthetic textiles for car seating surfaces, MBTex be damned.

Don’t you have Frenemies in other countries who can ship you an iPhone if you really want one?
