So has Android 11 gotten any better?
My Pixel 3 is asking me to upgrade.
I don’t really have any issues with it other than the media player thing, which may not bother other people as much. It just seems like an unnecessary change to me, especially as it doesn’t work all the time. If you’re the sort of person that leaves a ton of notifications open all the time, it might be helpful, I suppose, but I clear them as soon as they arrive.

So, any people here who got to spend some quality time with the Pixel 4A so far? I’ll wait for the Pixel 5 announcement to pass before I pull the trigger, but it’s one I currently plan to switch to.

I guess I took too long deciding about Android 11 yesterday. The notification went away on my Pixel 3, and when I go to “About Phone” and check for an update, it just says my Android 10 is up to date already. I guess it was a limited time offer. To quote the movie Catch Me if You Can “Why didn’t I concur?”
You should still be able to manually pull it. I think mine said it was up to date too.
Android TV, this time it’s not shit, honest. Maybe they can leverage their knowledge graph or whatever they call it to get around content providers not wanting people to bypass their apps for search?
Here’s a brief preview of it running on a Chromecast from before the event, if you’re curious:
Oh god, corporate rap time.
Couldn’t really care less about what they’re presenting right now, but I have to say the presentation is a lot slicker than most of the events I’ve watched this year. Not sure why so many companies found it so hard to put decent cameras in the hands of their presenters, do proper graphics, and upload a high quality feed.
Here we go, 4a 5G. $499, headphone jack.
Pixel 5, $699

Does the Pixel 5 have the headphone jack too?
They didn’t specify. Will let you know if I see one.
Weird. AI driven movable light sources for portrait mode. Looked a bit crappy in the demo, but might be interesting if you mess up a shot.
Pushing Stadia now. At least they haven’t forgot about it. “Exclusive” demo of Immortals, Fenyx Rising or whatever it’s called.

£599 in the UK, so about £100 less than you can get a OnePlus 8 Pro with twice the storage for. That’ll be a tough call.
8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 4080 mAh battery, USB C audio
