I strongly agree with this gripe. I also find my phone is more eager to switch to cellular data and not back to Wifi if there is even the slightest interruption - I catch myself on cellular data on home much more than with my old phone.

My Pixel 6 is delayed with no updates beyond Sorry. Boo!

Hey, any experiences with this here newfangled Android 12 on a Pixel 3aXL? I’m being prompted to install it.

I got prompted on my Pixel 3. I’m still deciding. I figure since I’m not trading this in, when my Pixel 6 Pro arrives, I’ll keep the Pixel 3 as a wifi-only device for music and audible and such. And if that’s the case, maybe I should just have old reliable Android 11 on there?

I got a notification today telling me that i could install Android 12 and i just swiped it away.

Pixel 3 here… I’ve been using Android 12 now for 2-3 days, overall its fine and whatever was going on with my battery draining fast in Android 11, seems to have stopped, as I am getting almost a full day of use again on 1 charge. But the lock screen clock sucks.

For those interested, it seems that pixel 6 pros are back in stock in Google fi’s store.

I updated my Pixel 3 and my opinion is only slightly negative. Nothing got better, though a few things got prettier. And a few things got worse.

Y’all clock-hatin’ weirdos are weird. I like it!

Any YouTube Vanced users here, BTW? Just wondering, what’s the best/safest way to update that? I’m using the non-root version on my Pixel 3aXL.

Obviously I’d rather not just rely on a Google search for this.

I agree with this take.

I like the clock but most of the extra white space makes things less useful. The new drop down menu is worse. A few other things are worse. Nothing is really better. The new font is nice.

I don’t hate it, but I’d prefer to go back if that was an option. Upset that I can’t change the stuff I want to change and keep the rest.

Wait, don’t you just do it via the Vanced Manager? That’s how I’ve always done it and it’s been fine.

Now you’re making me doubt myself! :)

I installed it manually last time, but this time I did it with Vanced Manager.

My Pixel 6 Pro apparently shipped today. I thought I had plenty of time to decide on a cover, and maybe a charger, but I guess the time is here.

I guess it’s time to go looking on Amazon. I still need a tempered glass screen too, right? And I’ve handled my boss’s pixel 6 pro, it’s a very slippery and large phone, I know I’ll be dropping it a lot.

If they’ve spun up production (and it’s not in container ship Hell in the waters off LA/Long Beach) I’d get a Spigen case. They’re minimalist but do the job.

BTW, speaking of Pixel phones, anyone’s thoughts on the Pixel 5a v. the Pixel 6? There doesn’t seem to be much of a price difference between them.

Hmmm, those all seem to be 2 weeks out for delivery. So maybe they are in a container ship or something.

I’ve been eyeballing a 5a looking for sales now that 6’s are hitting the street. The 5a has a rear fingerprint sensor which is on my “must have” list for phones, whereas the 6 doesn’t. So I’m holding out hope that the 5a models start getting discounted but I haven’t seen it yet. I imagine general “stuff” shortages that are afflicting the US these days mean that retailers aren’t feeling any need to discount stuff to move older inventory.

Got a update today it is shipping (label created at least) and estimated delivery date is within the original window given so we shall see.

Who has the 5a in stock, BTW, because Amazon only has the international version, not compatible with Verizon/Sprint?

Also BTW, I’m with T-Mo right now but I gather that they have/had a pretty great deal on the 5a with Google Fi (although I don’t know how good the coverage is in north Portland). “Also too” as a certain ex-Governor of Alaska might say, would Google Fi give me problems if I wanted to keep YouTube Vanced (non-root version)?

My Spigen was going to take 2 weeks, but arrived in 5 days.
