I ordered the clear “Eco” case from Google store itself. I figure it’s about the same price ($20) as all the various cases I spent browsing on Amazon from unknown brands with dubious positive reviews and a couple of negative reviews each that say the case isn’t all that protective.
No idea what this is, but I bet a bit of judicious googling can get you there.
YouTube Vanced is basically a doctored version of the YouTube app for Android that lets you do things like block ads. Needless to say Google doesn’t let you d/l that from the Google Play store, and gives you dire warnings at every step that you’re at risk of harming your device by using it.
I was just eyeballing Amazon, but only for prices. I didn’t check with version was in stock. Like I said, I’m not interested unless I see price declines. Until then my Pixel 3 is good enough for me.

I took one for the team (really, been meaning to install for a while and this was the kick in the pants I needed) and am having no issues with Vanced on Fi.
Cool, thanks. I’m eyeing Fi, especially if it’ll subsidize my purchase of the 5a (assuming that’s still a thing), and if the plan with a decent amount of mobile data is reasonable.
I wonder how hairy moving the phone number from T-Mobile to Fi is going to be.
If it’s anything other than super easy - barely an inconvenience - I’ll be shocked.
Another Ryan George fan, I see. Thanks. If I go through the Fi store, I’m also going to see if they’ll take my old phone (a 3a XL) and how much they’ll give me for it.
Think we got $50-70 for the wife’s P3.
I’ve seen lots of posts where screen covers are causing issues with the front screen fingerprint reader.
Oooh, thanks! I’ll go without then.
I’m very apprehensive about no fingerprint reader on the back like my last two phones. Hopefully that part will be fine.
So I upgraded to Android 12 after all, and the clock on the lock screen changed position but it wasn’t the horrible thing I’ve seen pictured with the OMGHuge hour digits above the similarly huge minute ones. I guess enough people complained.
What model phone? I’m still stuck with the unchangeable taking-the-whole-lock-screen-to-show-four-digit-time monstrosity so if there’s an update that fixes that I’m excited.

I think the clock is huge only if there are no notifications?

I have a message that I put on my lock screen (basically giving a number to contact in case the phone is found by someone), would I still be able to have something like that if I upgraded?
I have that on my phone and it was too long of a message but after I made it a little more concise it fit on there and works. I thought it would scroll or something to fit the longer message but I couldn’t get it to show the whole thing.
My Pixel 6 Pro and my Pixel Buds arrived via FedEx, waiting for me at home.
My case and charger haven’t shipped yet, so I’m wondering if I should start using it before the cover arrives or not.
Hey, has anyone here ever taken advantage of one of these Google Fi deals where you end up buying the phone at a discount (but only if you subscribe to Google Fi and do the upgrade after two years, I guess)? I’m with T-Mobile right now but I’m thinking I might go for the deal for buying a 5a with 5G. Not clear on whether you only get the discount (and get to keep the first phone) if you decide not to upgrade nor stay with Fi after two years.
BTW, you people who have been buying Pixel 6 Pros directly from the Fi store, you don’t have to subscribe to Fi, right? You can just buy the phone outright and unlocked, to go to any carrier?
