I had the weirdest thing happen the other day with my Pixel 5a: my phone rang and it was my brother-- a call I wanted to pick up. However, there was nothing on the screen that would let me do that. I even went to the phone app, no joy. It was frustrating.
I ended up rebooting the phone and that fixed it. Still, has this happened to anyone else?

I had the same thing happen to me. I assumed the issue was because I was also logged in to the messages.google.com and can answer phone calls there (I’m on Fi). Glad to know I’m not the only one (maybe?)

Yes. The problem here is that airlines are pieces of shit who charge us a ton of money to treat us like rats, and take tons of money from the government, and then just buyback their own stock to make line go up… but they never want to upgrade the stuff we fly around in.
The important part is here:
The problem is, not every aircraft has a modern radar altimeter. Both sides acknowledge that at least some altimeters are affected by signals from outside the intended spectrum bands. To be clear, this is a malfunction — but it’s a malfunction that wouldn’t have been relevant before C-band came online. As things stand now, it’s not clear how many faulty altimeters are out there or how they’ll respond to a flood of 5G traffic. And because even a single interference-related crash would be tragic, it’s hard for airlines to feel secure about the rollout.
The airlines DO NOT OWN the part of the spectrum we’re talking about here. It’s a different part. If their equipment is interfered with, it’s 100% the airlines’ fault. They need to fix their shit. And they have had TONS of time to do so.
So much this. They’ve known this was coming for years, it’s not some sudden surprise. I could sort of get the whole “It wasn’t a problem before, but the government sold off adjacent spectrum and now we have to do an expensive equipment upgrade” angle, except they just got $54 BILLION in airline bailouts from congress during the pandemic.

From 2014 to 2020, American Airlines spent more money buying back its own stock than it spent paying ALL of its employees combined.
The people running the airlines are pieces of shit. Fuck them. Stop giving them money. Stop doing fucking anything for them.
I’m also on Fi, and as far as I know I wasn’t logged into that website. Maybe I had the Messages app open (the default one on your phone). I think I may have been listening to something on a Bluetooth speaker when the first call came in, but I turned it off before the second one came in, same problem.
Pre-order deal was just too good to pass on S22 Ultra 512. With trade-ins (my Note 20 and a tab s7+) I am on the hook for $499. If I traded in my tab s7, would have been $299. Because I reserved a phone before the announcement, I was able to spend $250 on accessories (more chargers, cases, ear buds, etc.). I didn’t spend all of that because (1) not really interested in Samsung earbuds, (2) will continue to use my iPad, and (3) I already have a Galaxy Watch.
They finally decided to offer all colors in the higher storage options, so finally back to the white galaxy note, I mean S22 Ultra, that I started with back in the day.
Part of me is annoyed I got an S21 so close to the S22s coming out, but I wasn’t aware of it, and this S21 is so awesome anyway I’m not THAT annoyed. ;)

Got a flip phone a month ago. Always been an iPhone user. I absolutely love the flip phone… I always drop my phone and it breaks the front screen but that can’t happen with the flip phone when it’s closed. Saved me already.
Perfect for me and since I bought this, I bought a Samsung tablet and enjoying thay also. The kid will stick with Apple but I’m back to android.
How are you finding the battery life?
The flip is the first ever phone I’ve seen & thought “I want that”, but the battery & apparently average cameras put me off.

What flip phone are you guys talking about?
That would be my question as well, and whether this “flip phone” is of these attempts at a flexible touchscreen. What I’ve read about those has not seemed promising.

Samsung Galaxy Z flip 3. It’s great.
Battery life not so great but I charge it driving 30 minutes to work and 30 minutes home and it’s fine. I have never just charged it full and used it like normal to see how long it lasts.
For cameras, I dont care about phone cameras so other than a quick video of my dogs or selfie with my kid, I have no idea if they are good compared to Iphones or whatever.
I am looking to upgrade my trusty Galaxy S10 which I preordered back in 2019 when it released. I’m looking at the new S22 series and I’m very tempted by the Ultra, but a bit apprehensive at the size. I have small-ish hands and the S10 is already difficult to use one-handed so I am already used to holding it in both, and I use a folding case with card-holder and cash pocket too (which doubles as a stand). I’d be looking for one of those for the Ultra too.
I am looking at this site which allows you to calibrate the scale to 1:1 so you can get an idea of the size of the phones. The S22 is slightly smaller and heavier than the S10 but the Ultra is freaking mahoosive.
What are people’s experiences with upgrading from a “normal” sized phone to a phablet like the Note series or the Sx Ultra models? Did you get on with it, or did the size make it too awkward?
I had a Note 10+ for a few years and it was just a smidge too wide to be comfortable. Switching to the S21 Ultra, which is a bit thinner but so a smidge taller, has honestly been a lot more comfortable.
On the other hand, I kinda hate the TALL AF form factor of the modern Samsungs. Video looks weird or letterboxed, of course, but moreover, with the gigantic camera arrays on top, the phones are wildly unbalanced and very difficult to use one-handed.
All phones are too chonky nowadays. Someone make a quality 5" midrange please.

Pixel 6?
Oh, I guess that’s a 6 inch phone too, isn’t it? Although smaller than the pro.
The Pixel 3 is the perfect size. It feels so good to hold it. Especially after working all day on my Pixel 6 Pro and its giant-ass screen.
I recently upgraded my vintage Galaxy S7 and was concerned about the new phone still comfortably fitting in my front pants pocket. I finally settled on the S21, which is about a half-inch longer but still manageable (though not great when sitting down). I do appreciate the larger screen and much better performance.
