wet-finger support
I did not know this was an issue!
I just got an A53. Never had a smartphone before, can I ask what I should be getting for it? So far I’ve gotten rid of some of the bloat, added Tusky and Discord, and learned how to do selfies.
I rocked my flipphone for 10 years. I only went to a smartphone because they were discontinuing my phone at the end of this year because it’s so old.
I mean you wanna put that Qt3 applet onto your home screen for sure!
Are you @tomchick in disguise?
Whstcha do for 2-factor before this phone? Yubikeys?
If the answer is “nothing” (shudder) I recommend Authy now that you have a thing to install it on.
This is the way.
Also: Some browser that isn’t Chrome so you can block ads properly. I just use Brave with its built-in blocker, works a charm (mostly).
I would also suggest Vivaldi as a browser. It’s fantastic.

I wasn’t aware that there were other browsers that block ads. Google allows them on the Play store?
Yup! Brave is here, for example. I of course don’t bother with any of the silly crypto rewards nonsense, but it comes with pretty decent ad and tracker blocking out of the box.
Have you never had issues unlocking a phone or laptop after getting your hands wet? I usually need to make sure they are properly dry, especially for the laptop fingerprint reader.
You must have weird rubbery hands. :)
Maybe its just a feature for certain individuals. :P
Brave is legit awful.
Creator was thrown out of the Mozilla project for this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ainbow/comments/csw4v9/do_not_use_brave_browser_youre_supporting_a/
There’s also heavy issues with NFT support/shilling.
Otoh, he’s not making any money off me so I’m not sure why I’d feel bad? Also the link from Reddit goes to 404 on some blog.
Ah, he made a donation to Prop 8 and then was a turd about it. Also he looks like a boiled potato. Sure, agreed he’s an asshole.
