The google folding thing is supposed to be mega expensive I think.
Is the new regular Pixel model due anytime soon? I just want a normal phone, ideally in the older 5" size, and while my Pixel 4 is fine for now, it would be nice to upgrade cameras again.
7a, yes. Flagship, no. Unless they intend to replace the flagship line with the folding one.
They usually come out in October. I think the Pixel A series will come out this summer though.
Is the 7a an upgrade or downgrade from the 7?
It’s the midrange version, so lower spec, though it may have some lessons-learned type improvements. It’s Google’ version of Samsung’s A-line, and is usually very good value.
7a hasn’t officially been announced yet, but you can look at 6 vs 6a for a reference.
Lower specs than the 6, but better battery life. Worth noting the 6 has a much better camera than the 6a, for instance.
Ah, so I’m waiting for the Pixel 8 then.
This article just went up this morning. The new flagship phone from Motorola looks promising.

There’s a company I haven’t heard about in a very, very long time.
I have a Pixel 6. It has been paired with my Volvo S60 for 6 months with the phone and streaming Tidal without issue. Until 2 weeks ago, now it doesn’t work. The phone seems paired, the song is displayed but no audio is heard. I can go to the next track with the car controls etc. When I use the phone the car no longer transfers the call to the handsfree car system. I brought a other android phone into the car and it pairs up and works like it should so I’m thinking it’s a phone issue. I have deleted the phone from the car and paired it up again a couple of times but it’s always the same. I have turn Bluetooth on and off a few times in my phone as well as a shutdown reboot. No android auto available on the car.
Any ideas?
Android Auto got rid of the ability to disable wireless connectivity, this could be what is messing up your bluetooth, I have to manually connect each time to get round it. Try disabling or removing Android Auto completely to see if that helps.

What about the Sony Xperia line? That’s what I’d get if they hadn’t pulled out of Australia, and if you stretch phones 4 years, the high price should be mitigated. Hard to say the price is too high when nobody else is making what you want.
You’re in a bad place, the Pixel 2 was amazing. I’d still have mine except the charging port finally wore out. Great battery life, plenty fast. My 6 is inferior but the wireless charging is making the difference.

Sorry to hear about your phone. Bad luck maybe? I’ve dropped my Pixel 4a multiple times (also in a Spigen case) and a few times it’s actually caused the phone to turn off, but so far no actual damage to the phone.
Yeah. I know it’s ancient, but I’m still perfectly content with it. Not sure if the issue I experienced is something to be concerned about or not.
Im just surprised its still going, in my experience planned obsolescence is a real thing, and expect issues around the 2 year mark.
We’ve been able to go OG Pixel > Pixel 3 > Pixel 6, so they do seem to be built to last(ish).
Disabling Android auto in my phone seems to have fix it. Thanks a ton!!!
