Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Or: All Good Animals Cross to Switch)

Cool, I should really get on making a dude…

My island name is Chilli P, and my fruits so far are Pears, coconuts and Apples. All are welcome!

@barstein I am having fun with the build tools, but just getting started. this game is adorable…

Left my island open for a while while I cook. IRL friends are running around so not sure how long the apples will last but feel free to go nuts. If you see cherries by the airport, please leave em be; one of the visitors said she’d try to bring some.

Oh!

Sahara the rug dealing camel is currently on my island, so you can buy from her if you come by. She sells random small, medium, and large rugs for 1000, 1500, & 2000 bells. You earn free tickets with each purchase that can go towards a randomized CRAZY floor or wallpaper (you can also buy those outright for like 3k).

The stuff she sells is nuts. My first floor was Egyptian temple - stone covered in hieroglyphics! The second was literally a painting of a giant highway running through the center of the room, lol. I saw someone online who got a beautiful forest floor complete with creek from her.

Dunno how long she’ll stick around, but try to find her if you can!

I saw her on @barstein’s island and bought a wallpaper that’s an ocean horizon with moving water. Kinda regret not buying a floor but she was gone when I went back :(

I think she’s still around sonewhere, saw her 10 or so minutes ago. Edit; Yup, she’s still here.

Not being able to have Saharah live in your town is a little tragedy of this game.

I’m actually a little peeved that after I recruited one mystery island traveler to my island, two more rando NPCs were picked for me. I’m trying to cultivate the most adorable settlement possible, and so help me god if that doesn’t include at least one bug eyed little frog dude my gf and I are gonna riot!

You can kick stickers out!

All bow before the Representative almighty.

The little blue bug eyed frog guy? He’s my 4th resident and he’s super cute. I’m not so thrilled with the jock gorilla. Apple the hamster is adorable too.

Geez, I didn’t realize there we so many possible villagers until I looked them up.

I’m secretly hoping my old buddy Wolfgang will show up.

I’m working from home today, and left my island open if someone needs pears or apples or coconuts! I am looking for everything else, so come say hi =)

I started playing tonight with my 8 year old. It’s funny to watch a kid who’s not used to video game logic try something new. We got to the part where you name the island and she thought for a while and came up with something, then our neighbors had suggestions and we voted, and everyone voted for hers. She was so psyched about winning that vote. Jumping around the room.

I have two decidedly uncute critters on my island so far (hideous koala and camo croc), I picked up a few animal crossing amiibos for cheap and for laughs in the past so I look forward to replacing at least one of them with a cute cat.

I had Skye move into my town, which I was pretty happy about because Skye gave me one of the best laugh out loud moments I had in New Leaf.

See, she kept insisting that I come over to see her place, so I agreed, we set up a time, and I went over at the appointed time. Inside, I found this:

HNI_0006

I mean, I like you Skye, but I’m not really into that. Thankfully, her new house shows no signs that she’s trying to get her softcore wolf porn business going on my island. ;)

Bought this on Friday. The 14 year old was playing Doom and told me I was dumb for playing a kiddie game. Last night I told him I’d buy it for him just so we can compete to see who can make the best island. He hesitated but then said ok. He then proceeded to play all night and all morning…and now said he is loving it. Of course, he’s now way ahead of me but oh well.

That’s some very fine parenting, you ask me!

That’s hilarious!

You, sir, should found a company providing Teen-Adult translation services.

He’s already stressed with the current state of affairs and stressed from the damn Marauders which made him rage quit last night…thought a nice safe Nintendo game would be good for his soul…worked!

Ugh, so far aside from tools randomly breaking I’m finding the whole Iron Nugget thing a pain. Now I need 30 and I have approximately 9 and that’s after using my complimentary Nook Ticket to get to a mystery island and slamming all the rocks there which netted me just as many stones and clay as it did Iron.

Otherwise it’s a weirdly relaxing time other than a few odd choices and some menu quirks I don’t like. Like why can’t I rearrange my pockets or split up items how I want to? That’s just weird.
