I was going to wait until I finished my cafe to share my dream code, but after seeing this, I may have to retire from the game. It’s absolutely amazing.
Dream codes just give people access to your island via dreaming, right? So you don’t have to open it up and be online? And they can’t do anything to the island itself either?

Correct, it’s a snapshot in time of your island at the time you upload it, including time of day and weather conditions. You arrive in a dream empty handed, so some people leave tools out (just while they upload) so dream visitors can run around and do whatever they want. (Ladders and vaulting poles are especially handy if you have areas of your island that can only be accessed that way.) They can dig up or trample your flowers, steal all your fruit and bells from your bell trees, etc, but none of it has any effect on your real island. (They don’t actually get to keep anything they “take” from your dream island either.)
And no, you don’t need to be online hosting it, but your character can sometimes be found hanging in the dream. If you talk to them, it appears that they’ll just say whatever you have listed as your phrase on your passport. (I’m guessing that from the one “person” I ran into on a dream island I visited.)
EDIT: Also, it’s worth mentioning that you can update your dream once per day, and every time you update your dream, Luna will send you a “Dream Bell Ticket” in the mail that you can sell to the Nooklings for 5000 bells. I do seem to recall that you got bells for updating your dream in New Leaf as well, but I don’t remember how much it was. Anyway, even if you don’t change anything on your island, it might be worth updating every day just for the free bells. (It’s currently unknown whether those Bell tickets will ever be used for anything else. I’m currently stockpiling mine because I don’t need the cash.)

Sorry to be spamming this topic today, hehe, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up that I am having an official meteor shower tonight, announced by Isabelle and everything. I should be able to open up for a little while later, and I will post a code tonight when I do. (I’m EST.)
No idea if Celeste will be here - I actually had her earlier this week, and I’m not sure if she’s a guaranteed appearance on meteor shower nights, but that would mean having her twice in one week? Anyway, I’ll post with that info as well later.
IIRC she’ll only come once, so if she randomly appears before a Meteor Shower comes, she won’t necessarily be there, but they did change the visitor code recently, so it could well be different now!
I may try to sneak over while in a game tonight; we had a meteor shower on Arubelle earlier this week that we didn’t spy till like 1AM; my gf and I got like 30 stars apiece, but the next day, our shores were nearly barren. No Leo shards and one Large piece between the two of us :-/ – then like a dozen small pieces each.

Sorry I didn’t reply to this sooner, I’ve mostly been busy doing other stuff, checking my Switch occasionally to make sure it doesn’t go to sleep, hehe.i have not seen Celeste, and I assume she’s not here because I saw her earlier in the week, but feel free to search the island for her (though I assume you already did, hehe).

Okay everyone, I’ve closed up for the night. Hope everyone managed to nab a fair amount of stars! They seemed to be coming down quite consistently when I was on and off throughout the evening.
And thanks for the heads up on Paolo crafting, I didn’t actually have the Zen Stone DIY yet!
