Holy crap!! I feel like it’s been so long since I saw either Guliver or Gulivar :(
HOW did you get your hands on the necessary rocket component & amass the 30 rusted parts needed for the robot? I’ve been playing since launch and have maybe 15 rusted parts! (have also failed to grow a blue rose to date).

Just don’t give Gulliver communicator parts – they turn to rusted parts the day after.

I can’t do that to poor Gulliver. Even if it means I never get to make that robot, I will just keep collecting one rusted part at a time for another 6-9 months, if I’m still playing then.

I traded villagers I didn’t want for them and gold nugs too. I actually gave 10 NMTs for 7 rusted parts too, which seemed like such a bargain I gave them an extra 10 NMTs.
Did not know about the Gulliver trick but I can’t leave that dude hanging.

Protip for anyone having trouble collecting acorns or pinecones for autumn DIYs… you can shake trees multiple times to try and get them to drop. They apparently have a chance to drop every time you shake, like sticks. I was getting maybe one or two each day during my usual “shake all the trees for furniture, bells and wasps” routine, until I saw a reddit post that said you should shake the trees a few times each. So I’ve been shaking each tree five times, and today I ended up with 10 acorns and 5 pinecones. You can certainly shake more, for 5 each is about all I have patience for. ;)
@Kadath - nice accomplishment with the robot! I’m nowhere close to having all the mats to craft it, but then I haven’t really been focused on it, as it doesn’t really go with my island aesthetic. Still, I’ll build it one day, just to have it, even if it just sits in my house storage. ;)

My son doesn’t want to abandon Gulivarr (he still wants the pirate stuff), but I said he could do it with Gulliver: He goes on, offers to help, gets the parts, then I log on an help

So Zucker was cleaning up and gave us some weird trash…that wound up being a Rembrandt.
This game is so gloriously weird.
I’ve gotten the wolf statue when someone was cleaning up. And my favorite letter:
