I think villagers visiting you at home is new? At least I’ve only seen it happening since the update. Had one come in while I inside already, and another come up to me while running around to tell me his was bored - I suggested we could find something to do at my house, and we transitioned there.

You can’t decorate while you have visitors though. So I wasn’t able to put out games, food, whatever, to see if it enabled anything :-(

Yep, it’s new. Apparently, you can also view them through the peephole in your door when one comes knocking, too, after the first visitor.

I think they just wander though, and don’t do any special interactions, from what I’ve seen from watching my wife play.

Paolo did admire a couple of things I had placed, but that was about it. And then sounded a wee bit hurt when I wanted to go do other stuff.

“Dear Penthouse Forum, I never thought this would happen to me…”

If you want to just power through and do the bare minimum to progress, you can do that. If you want to put the extra effort in and make a house that you can revisit and post online, you can do that. I think the game is just letting you play the way you want to play. But yeah, it would be nice to get a few more guidelines on laying out a room.

I never really played Stalk Market much before. But on Sunday I spent big and filled a room with them.

This week I think I’m on a ‘random’ cycle. There have only been two prices so far, and the last was ok at 120 or something. I understand the max on a random cycle is 150.

With so long in the week left I’m gambling on a little higher return than 120, but who knows… is there anyone still doing open islands in case of Turnip emergencies?! :)

I have zero bells. Apparently before I stopped playing a while ago, I’d spent all my money on turnips and didn’t log back on to sell them. Now they’re all rotted in my inventory. That was a LOT of money too :(

Doh! Fortunately you can make decent money just from beachcombing and selling spare fossils.

Of course, decent being “make steady progress” not get the several millions it takes to max upgrade your house in week.

My turnips are at 84 now. I’ll check tmrw but will be in the office so won’t get any updates til the evening. Message me here to remind me if I haven’t posted by 8 or so tmrw night.

Nice, thanks! This morning’s price is 119 (so 102, 122, 119). There are still nine price changes left before they rot but I would like to have a plan B ready! Maybe I should just take 119…

Haha ouch! I was off island for over a year, and came back to a nice amount of interest in my bank account! :)

The worst was seeing in the phone app’s newspaper that my island had turnips at 433 a couple days before the update dropped and I missed it because I just never bother to check anymore.

I let Sterling move out yesterday - I said no to him so many times because I love him, but I finally decided it was time to get some new blood in. However, before letting him leave, I built him a vacation home on the DLC island, so it’s almost as if he isn’t really gone… I can go visit him anytime I like! =D

Okay that’s a really cool idea! So does he just live on the island permanently? And more importantly, does he remember you???

Also, you could just lay out a basic room and make your money…or you could set up a pimped-out penthouse crib for a mobster!

Haha wow!

All credit goes to my son. I thought the Rolex on the stand was a nice touch.

Anyone got turnip prices over 150 today? :)

I think he will live in vacation-land until I tell him to move, unless there’s some other system in place where they sell their vacation homes. Since you only have limited spots for the vacation homes, I assume there’s some way to rotate them out.

As far as him remembering me… the answer appears to be no, but it’s not really noticeable at all. That is, he has typical jock personality type lines when you visit him, but the only reason I think his memory has been wiped clean is that he’s reverted back to his default catchphrase. Skye, in comparision, still lives on my island (she can never leave) but I’ve also built her a vacation home… but when I speak to her in vacation land, she still uses the catch phrase I gave her. Nor does she even make reference to the main island home.

It would definitely be cool is Sterling would remember where he came from, but I’m not too upset about it. I still like that I can see him and talk to him.

Okay I had to share this one:

Yeah, that’s good. It’s pretty obvious that “Marlo” is supposed to be Marlon Brando, because his desire is to be a movie star and his preferred stuff wouldn’t be out of place in The Godfather’s opening wedding.
