Very much the same. The downside being that I am best able to focus on the sound by closing my eyes completely. Coupled with the relaxing atmosphere of the game in general and the crazy sleep schedule I’m enjoying these days, fishing tends to make me very, very sleepy. . . which leads to mistakes :(

I got up to 42 in a streak once, which isn’t even the next-to-last level (50). Alas.

Okay, I had just about enough to pay off my Nook loan (140K bells) today, but instead I sunk it all into turnips at 96. My first turnip purchase.

I really, really hope one of y’all has a good price this week and I see it in time! I’d hate to have to learn a valuable lesson about gambling with my life’s savings.

Last week I had about 350K saved up, putting me within spitting distance of paying off my next loan (548K). But instead I bought turnips, sold them about 500 thanks to Qt3, and I was able to pay off my next two upgrades instead (548K and 758K).

Just keep an eye on your prices (and prices here) as much as you can. Use a Turnip Calculator, if possible.

I’m out of the turnip game for awhile, as I made enough for all my upgrades, but I’ll still definitely be posting any good turnip prices I see!

I am crap at the fishing, normally play with no sound, i gather than makes it a lot harder, any advice?

130 bells, bah. I’m never gonna hit tge 500+ lottery

Usually the big numbers roll in between Tuesday PM and Friday AM, or it feels like that. I’ve not seen too many Monday rocket numbers.

Also made a big turnip purchase this week. Keeping an eye out for decent prices!

622 is highest I’ve seen, with ridiculous demands to go with it

My highest this week is 122. Good luck everyone else, we’re all counting on you.

Equally bad forecast here. Thought there is a slim chance I will get a good week, it is more likely that today’s price of 87 bells is my high for the week =(

Indeed :( prices on discord are craaazy. People who want bells want 600k per trip which is over 1/3 of what you could make max

You can try /r/acturnips on reddit.

You have to get super lucky and probably wait quite a while in a line. But at least they don’t allow entry fees.

My current forecast has a possibility to get up to 600 sometime this week, as early as tomorrow afternoon. I will certainly post here if I see it.

Nice :)

The turnip calculator has me at 65% for a large spike this week, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m really hoping for an afternoon spike instead of a morning one, just so more people will have a chance to join in. I will keep everyone posted!

Other than that, we have a birthday, a visitor at the campsite, and a villager moving out. Busy day!

Has anyone had visitors / gone to visit today and had awful lag? I’m hoping it’s not just me.

So my husband and I were watching some random streamer playing AC and the guy made some comment about how many units ACNH had sold, and that he didn’t think it would be doing so well if it weren’t for lockdown. I said that was BS because Animal Crossing is easily one of the Nintendo’s most beloved IPs, though my husband said it probably is true though that they made extra sales because of the lockdown.

So that got me to wondering… I think among people playing here at Qt3, there’s a mix of AC veterans and those who are new to the franchise, so I wanted to do a poll, just because I was curious.

My poll options will assume that if you’ve played previous AC flagship games that you were going to play this anyway so I’m leaving out anyone who played previous AC games but weren’t going to play this one… though please feel free to comment if one of my poll options don’t describe your motivation. :)

  • I’ve played at least one of the previous Animal Crossing flagship titles (does not include Pocket Camp / Happy Home Designer) and planned to play this
  • I’ve played Pocket Camp or HHD, but none of the flagship games, and planned to play this
  • I’ve played Pocket Camp or HHD, but only bought ACNH because of lockdown
  • I’ve never played any Animal Crossing games, but planned to play ACNH because of the hype
  • I’ve never played any Animal Crossing games, and only bought ACNH because of lockdown

I was slowly getting pulled into a hype vortex about the game by a large Contingent of local friends that play and love the series all planning on getting it and talking it up constantly. I was afraid the game wasn’t for me since I’m very bad at getting into aimless crafter games like Minecraft, but their excitement got me watching Let’s Plays of old titles. They liked very cute and had me considering a pre-order.

Then I went into lockdown on March 9th and realized that I needed this game more than anything ever before.

It’s hard to say if I would have played the same amount while not on lockdown. I will say that being on lockdown, I’m more likely to take breaks during the days to check turnip prices, shop, and things like that.
