I think it’s more random than that. From one of the turnip calculators, it depends on what your previous week was:
I don’t know: 35% Fluctuating, 26% Large Spike, 25% Small Spike, 14% Decreasing
Fluctuating: 35% Small, 30% Large, 20% Fluc, 15% Decr
Small Spike: Fluc 45%, Large 25%, Decr 15%, Small 15%
Large: Fluc 50%, Small 25%, Decr 20%, Large 5%
Decreasing: Large 45%, Small 25%, Fluc 25%, Decr 5%
Maybe there’s some sort of RNG correction (like with flower growth), but based on those numbers it looks random, with the caveat that a bad week will mean the next week is more likely to be good (or vice versa).
Looks like we still get fossils even though our museum fossil collection is completed. If anyone has any specific fossils they’re looking for, I can keep an eye out for it.

A Dinosaur Track and a Stego Torso
Maybe this goes without saying, but I hope they expand things more in upcoming releases. I get that people are playing more regularly with the quarantine (and maybe the game is tuned for casual players), but it’s a little sad that the fossil area of the museum is filled up after less than two months.
I would also personally enjoy more randomness. Maybe some days there’s six fossils! Some days there’s two! But maybe that’s just me.
Well it’s probably too late now for fossils, but I guess that’s why you got Redd for your yearnings.

The gf and I agree that the 2am tune is almost painfully melancholic and beautiful. Might be the sleepiness talking, but we always get very sentimental if we’re still up when it starts playing!
I told my son how nice the 2am tune was, and he said, “Oh yeah, I heard someone say that!” It is sublimely beautiful.
Besides this sale (I’ll have the total in a few minutes), Flik is on my island today, and my rarest rose just self-duplicated! It’s going to be a great day!
