Because Kiva is a really boring show and my inner child doesn’t like being bored.

I mean, Den-O is a show that pleases someone’s inner child-- it features stuff constantly happening. A shockingly high portion of Kiva’s runtime is devoted to the protagonist sitting in the bathtub and conversing with his CG-animated cartoon-bat belt buckle.

Oh, come on. Den-O is… UGLY.

I mean, this:

VS this:

Ewww…

What does the suit design have to do with how good the show is to watch?

I mean, the design and suitwork for Kiva himself is just garbage-- his head and chest are stupid-looking, his belt is fantastically terrible, pieces of the suit get loose and bounce around during fights because of cheap material choices-- but I didn’t bring that up in just discussing why Kiva is a bad kid’s show.

Kiva is a show where very little ever happens despite the show being loaded down with a cast nearly as huge Agito’s. In Den-O, things generally happen at a snappy clip and individual episodes are amusing. The characters are funny and I can see why little Japanese kids loved it. Kiva just missed its audience completely.

Don’t get me wrong, Den-O’s suit design is also a mess? But my inner child can find something in that show. Kiva makes my inner child bored and makes the rest of me just want to go watch GARO.

Dunno if I’d call it “best,” but I’m glad I’m not the only SO fan around here. One of the more pleasant underrated surprises in recent years, IMHO.

I strongly suspected it was coming - as did many others - and it was still a kick in the crotch. :-(

I don’t know if anyone is still watching it, but Phantom has turned from decent to great near the end of the series.

Yes, Drei has really spiced things up in Phantom. Too bad it’s almost over.

Hopefully they explain the radical age shift where someone goes from looking like his daughter to his older sister.

So I just watched the finale to Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and in my opinion it has pushed Eden of the East off the best show of the year pedestal.

Oh Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, you have wronged me so… Expected, but not desired.

Hulu just posted all of Baccano! online for free. You don’t have an excuse not to see this now…

…unless you live outside the US

Anyone else watching FMA:B ?

I no longer care about the original series.

Yes.

And hell yes.

I just finished up season 2 of Code Geas. There won’t be a third season. =(

Watching Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure. Older show, but so far it’s decent enough.

Also watching Starblazers - The Comet Empire. Trying to find the 3rd season, The Bolar Wars, but having no luck.

It’s so beautiful. Finally everyone understands why the manga fans were so unhappy the first time around…

Also, it seems that FMA:B will have a total of 63 episodes.

If anyone likes(liked) One Piece and still cares about it … the anime is about to reach an awesome arc and after that starts an even more awesome one :]

Sure, I do. It’s dubbed, which is an abomination against all that is true and good.

I’ll have to track it down in subs, though. The episode titles alone are awesome.

Baccano’s dub is far better than the sub. If you don’t believe me, funimation’s video site has it in Japanese.

I dont believe you.

In other news : finally ALL of Detective Conan’s OVAs have been subbed. All 12 are now available to english-speaking fans. Now whats left to wait for is all the Live TV specials.

Preview of the new fall shows.

For someone who really got into Code Geass, including R2 all the way through…

What next? I want something with more awesome mecha and a nice heaping of fanservice with brain-fuck plot twists and characters that aren’t 1-dimensional.
