If anyone cares, Naruto: Shippuuden has ended its filler arc, and returns to the main plot with a two-parter special.

Thanks for the news!

If anyone is interested the new episodes seem to be 197-198. The filler arc spans episodes 170-196.

Uhm, yeah, Bleach 309… uh. Ichigo lost all of his powers because he used the Final Getsuga Tenshou. He’s just a regular dude now, apparently. Where do you go from here? The main Aizen arc has ended, Ichigo reached his peak potential, and he’s now powerless. He’s not even, apparently, the lowest of the low on the Shinigami scale.

I say end it now. Ichigo goes back to being a normal high school kid, and reflects on the adventures of his past. However, his father learned and presumably used The Final, and is still a Shinigami. So I guess they’re going to fuck with us for a while until Ichigo regains his Shinigami power. Fuck, why am I even pondering all of this? His final form was awesome, but they’re going to now reboot him. Fuck it. The series is over as far as I’m concerned: Aizen is dead, the Hogyouku has been eliminated, Ichigo is robbed of his powers, life returns to normal. It’s over.

Of course, it’s not. Fuck.

This isn’t about anime, but I was very happy to see that Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid is turning into a sports manga and not quite as much loli crap as I had suspected.

Watched Blood Trinity.

Wasn’t bad.

Wasn’t great, either.

From what i understood, Isshin powers came back because of him being close to Ichigo and due to the massive reiatsu(spirit energy?) Ichigo was leaking until these final stages. That’s why his sister can also see ghosts along with a few other of his friends.

Or at least that’s what i understood from Tite Kubo insanely retarded plot.

Anyway, i’m guessing that the next 1 or 2 years of the anime will be filler.

Kubo said that for the manga there would be two more arcs. A small one (happening currently which is where he’ll get his powers back, most likely) and then another one on the scale of the Soul Society arc.

There are still things that have been mentioned but still haven’t showed up in the story like Squad 0 and the Spirit King domain which is what i’m guessing the last arc will be about.

EDIT: oh yeah, i don’t know if you remember one episode about Hell(Most people thought it was filler). I think one or two espada were transported there and we were shown some other ‘Bad Dude’? Yeah, well, after the Aizen arc … they put that ‘episode’ on the manga. So it will most likely also feature in these arcs.

Wasn’t Aizen imprisoned for 22,000 years or so?
But for the anime, stalled on one of the filler seasons. The one with the new captain that dual-wields some near broken zanpaktou.

Haven’t caught up with the new arc (Manga), but I agree on Ichigo getting his powers back.

Hmm, I don’t recall any “Hell” episode. Any idea which one it might be? I mean, well, there’s 309 of them, and I don’t feel like sorting through all the plot summaries to find it.

And I vaguely remember mention of the Spirit King. Forgot about that.

I think it’s Bleach episode 299, according to the episode names on Wikipedia.

Ah, yes, I skipped that one because I thought it was filler. Thanks!

Supernatural is out, I havent watched it completely yet but Sams voice seems to be the actor but Dean is... not. Im going to have to find some subtitle versions because that`s just too jarring. Deans voice actor is also… not so good.

Watching Trigun, totally not what I expected after enjoying Gungrave many times over. I actually like it, maybe it changes later on but right now there are just so many funny moments in it. Very different from Gungrave.

This is already a great year for awesome anime announcements. Kaiji Season 2 alone would have done it, but now we find out that Gyo is getting an anime adapation! I GASHUNK’d!

No matter how many times i see that shark picture, it always makes me laugh.

You know I’ll be giffing the hell out of that scene.

The Supernatural anime has been making its rounds. Absolutely do not download the dubs. Padalecki does play Sam, but some other shitty actor is doing Dean. The Japanese version (with subs) for ep1 is out, and I’d recommend that over the already-released dubs. The humor was sporadic in the first ep, but it still felt like Supernatural. Also, 80s butt rock is back!

I just found out that there is a second season of Gunslinger Girl. Is it any good? My only friend who’s seen it says it’s not, so I don’t want to watch it if it will disturb my memories of the original.

Is Haruhi Season 2 any good? I downloaded it when it came out but have never watched it; heard mixed things.

Sorry; law school makes me fall behind on these things.

I hear the style is considerably different, and I’ve definitely heard a number of people say it was bad, but a few friends of mine actually quite enjoyed it. If you liked the original, then I’d say to give it a shot.

It was much better if you watched it as it aired. Much, much better. Basically, you’re either going to love Endless Eight or hate it. The other episodes are generally good and will fill in some of the gaps from the first season’s timeline. Also, the first episode of S2 (Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody) is absolutely essential before watching the Disappearance movie.

Please report back; I haven’t seen it either. Right now I’m still working my way through El Cazador de la Bruja, for example…

I really liked some of the original season Gunslinger Girl episodes, e.g. the tear-jerker Ode to Joy singalong, but the overall setting is so insanely implausible it was hard to suspend disbelief sometimes. That is, is implausible in context, because it is supposedly set in something like the real world, and because the action is mostly more or less realistic (for anime, anyway).

Funny that I have no problem with silly worlds like that of Soul Eater or Slayers, but the fact that the Italian government would never in a million years come up with an extralegal cyber-girl assassin brigade weakens Gunslinger Girl for me somehow.
