It seems unlikely that blood-c will ever deviate from its formula of:
18 minutes of daily life, school comedy
6 minutes of random fight totally unrelated to anything
Even though the second episode made it sound like the third episode would explain something, it was just the standard formula and nothing happened.

On a side note, some of the narration in blood-c about what makes a person who they are sounds like it came straight out of hellboy.

I’ve lost hope after the 3rd episode of Blood-C. It’s so… typical. I think they spent a whole 10 minutes of the episode focusing on that fucking cafe alone.

And there’s no doubt about it that Keith was modeled after Top Gun Tom Cruise. They’re even wearing almost identical flight jackets, right down to the arm patch.

So, Penguin Drum: I have no fucking idea what’s going on in this show, but I love it. Himari’s Survival Strategy transformation sequence alone makes it worth it. It’s just so fabulous.

Tiger & Bunny: that was a really great episode. Big reveal, too.

Triple post!

Caught up on Steins;Gate just now. Incredible series. The last few episodes have been particularly awesome, and I’m itching for more.

Oh wow, [gg] released a hilarious sub of Sacred Seven #4. The first quarter is translated competently, but the last part of the ep must be have been run through google or something. Tandoji’s name is bizarrely translated as “Uji military ballistic”, and I really got a kick out of this mis-translation:

The funny part was, I’ve watched so much damn anime I actually understood what they were really saying.

Did you download the troll gfg subs perhaps?

Ha! I didn’t notice the ‘f’ in there. Yeah, I guess I did. Pretty good troll, too, since the first ~6 minutes are a pretty good translation. Then it immediately switched gears into wtf territory.

Ping Pong Club, despite full knowing what I was getting myself into.
But in it’s defense, the knife can’t cut deeper than it can with shitting out ping pong balls.

To counteract it, the heart-exploding cuteness and just sheer brilliance of Usagi Drop and Baka to Test. Even so, my soul will never be clean.

Penguindrum 04 was great. Very funny, and the mystery deepens.

I started watching One Outs. It’s basically Akagi playing baseball. Given that I am a huge fan Akagi, this is amazing. I don’t even like baseball and this gets my heart pounding. Of course, I didn’t like mahjong when I started watching Akagi, but I doubt One Outs is going to make me love baseball.

Also, Madhouse wants to do Akagi season 2. I hope that means they will do other Fukumoto works.

Best anime this season is Usagi Drop. (not that I’ve seen most of the rest, but that one is a masterpiece)

Is it just me and my bad luck for choices, or has Netflix gone full dub? All the last few things I tried were all dubbed. Poorly too, which just makes them unwatcheable.

Gone? As far as I know they’ve never done subs for anime. Other than, apparently, Death Note.

One Outs is a seriously awesome series.

Penguin drum is definitely something.

Penguin Drum is great. I squee every time Survival Strategy is invoked.

Not much meat this season, though. Kamisama Dolls is decent, so is Sacred Seven, but other hopefuls like Blood-C suck. Very few standouts. I just want more Tiger & Bunny…

Tiger & Bunny and Kaiji S2 are still my favorite currently airing shows, and they both started in spring, but Natsume S3 started in summer and is right behind them in terms of MUST WATCH RIGHT NOW. And, of course, Penguin Drum. And UtaPri, but only because it’s on niconico and the comments crack me up. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself.

Just finished One Outs today and holy shit, what an incredibly great show. Perfect pacing to create tension, so much rulesfuckery and psychology… just really fantastic.

Shit just got real on Tiger & Bunny. Hell yes.

Agreed. It just jumped up a few rungs on my hierarchy of currently airing shows as of this week.

Being Tiger is suffering.
