A sophomoric run of anime this week.
Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon
Black Bullet
Trinity Seven
No game No life
Of these only two are worth your time.
Is It Wrong… was actually surprisingly fun. It’s actually what I wish MMOs were really like.
No Game No Life It’s not the greatest, but I’m enjoying the humor and animation. I could do without so much fan service bs, but I like the idea of show.

I personally enjoyed “Oh My Goddess”.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oh_My_Goddess!
I like love stories without drama, where people is just happy at slow pace, even if they are fighting monsters large than a building and saving the universe, they get comfort from love. This seems to be about 0.01% of all love stories. Everyone else seems to want love stories where love cause grief, sadness, violence … I am a weird person that want love to make people happy.
No game No life is a bit like a good detective novel, where when the detective explain what he did, everyone find it obvious. It has this quality to it that is very rare.

I watched the first episode on hulu plus recently. The animation isn’t the greatest, but I thought it was a pretty humorous take on the superhero genre.

I am a weird person that want love to make people happy.
That is weird, man. Have you sought professional help for this malady?
…and its 2nd episode answered my question of “now what kind of stories can be told with a hero so powerful?”
I’m also watching Return of Kings, which began like Durarara with a huge dance-pop soundtrack that MUST BE USED. Not sure if I can recommend it, but it’s really popular on the web.
@Teiman: watch Ai Yori Aoshi and A.Y.A.: Enishi. Most non-drama love story/harem story ever told.

Does that mean OPM is worth sticking with?
Probably not, or wait until all eps are out, and then burn through them at 2x or 4x speed. Episode 3 story (spoiler-ish) is OPM teaching someone how to become as powerful, so I’m expecting a more meaty episode.
Aldnoah Zero popped up on Netflix and I ran through that season pretty quick. It’s fun sci-fi/mech action with the our heroes at a dramatic technological disadvantage.

I watched the first to episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and enjoyed it so far. I usually find the Mobile Suit Gundam just okay but kind of liked the kid/orphan vibe in this one. Death/Battles seems a bit more serious in this particular series probably because it is about kids.
I think One Punch Man is a riot. How did you get so strong…pushups , squats and situps plus some running! :)
Aldnoah season 1 was good, but I hated the second season.
Funny comment, given that is the best animated show in a good while!
So, this season the ones to watch are One Punch Man, Haikyuu!! S2 and possibly (it’s a slow murder mystery series, can’t be sure until the end) Subete ga F ni Naru.
Just finished the 12 episodes of GATE that are out so far, and I was pretty impressed. Really like the setting, and the way they’re working the politics and cultural impact angles. Could do without the sex-crazed death goddess bit, but otherwise fairly happy with it. Now I wish I’d waited until all 24 episodes were out, I’m ready to watch the rest. :)
I’m dropping K: Return of Kings because a) it’s going to be one of series like Bleach with too many characters and nothing really happens, and b) it’s a sequel?!? I didn’t watch the original. But soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura? I’ll go listen on youtube instead.

The original and the follow-up movie.
Crunchyroll is doing okay.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-10-22/crunchyroll-sumitomo-announce-partnership-to-create-company-to-co-produce-anime/.94495
Media distribution service Crunchyroll and Japanese trading company Sumitomo Corporation announced on Thursday that they have launched a joint venture to create a company focused on funding anime co-production projects. By being part of an anime’s production committee, the company can immediately acquire foreign distribution rights and promote anime outside of Japan.
Crunchyroll and Sumitomo Corporation have yet to announce the company’s name, the amount that either participant is investing, or the scope of the investment.
The announcement lists that Crunchyroll has 700,000 paying subscribers and more than 10 million registered users worldwide.
Iehisa Nakamura — Sumitomo Corporation’s corporate officer and general manager of its media division — said in the announcement, “with this partnership, the voice of worldwide anime fans can reach anime production studios directly through the Crunchyroll platform, which I believe will produce fascinating anime for a worldwide audience as a result. We would like to contribute to the development of the anime industry by creating new anime for worldwide Japanese anime fans with Crunchyroll.”
The soundtrack is awesome, but there are only 10 or 12 episodes. How many episode did you get to. They really don’t have that many characters. That said the idea was probably cooler than the final pay off. Still I thought it was worth watching.
I got to 3rd episode. 4 of the 5 colors have shown up so far. Now I understand why the show doesn’t explain anything, and is showing only fights and relationship chats (just like a fighting game, like Tekken). But still, the only plot point that has advanced is the Green’s grunt recruitment plan used for harassing the others. With only 9 more episodes to go, I cannot foresee it as anything but a fan-service show.
I just watched the Usagi Drop anime and loved it. Glad I never read the manga, and now I know to avoid even looking at the summaries.

This is a practical exercise of genre deconstruction. The hero without the drama. Lets Talk To The Monster. It could be even fun, but I don’t know if they have stories to tell on top showing a superhero that is a normal human being being a normal human being despite the superhero thing. Last episode was weird… political?.
Macross Delta trailer:
Looks a bit odd with… well, Zentradi and castles and stuff. There will also apparently be more of a focus on veritech fighting (ala Macross Plus and Zero) rather than fighting off some alien… whatever.
I still love going back to watch Zero.
