Yeah Dorohedoro is good. Problem is, it was done by Mappa that now seems busy doing Attack on Titan, therefore the possibility of a second season is much lower now :(

This isn’t being a great season. I dropped some and only remained watching Wave Listen to me and Sing yesterday for me. The tone of the former is all over the damn place, it’s like the author it’s doing whatever he wants as a relief after finishing a 20 year long run with Blade of the Immortal. The latter is being too slow, the first four or five episodes was ok as it was still establishing the characters, their relationships, etc, but at this point it’s gratuitously slow.

Sing Yesterday for me ended badly. Fuck these characters.

Weathering with You was sad and slow.

I don’t like current anime thrends so I decided to watch Re:Zero against.

I was ready for the worst with low expectations. I liked it the first time I watched it, but I expected to see only flaws and activelly dislike it.

The flaws part is true. The serie indulge itself in very long discussions with the characters talking a lot even when they should run somewhere else for story reasons.
But somehow is good, even better than I remember. And have everything, comedy, actions, romance.

I have not interest in teenager love because…well… I am not a teenager. Re:Zero don’t speak to me when is all about love. But I can understand that is a valid motivation of the actions. And from that position I enjoyed Re:Zero very well. Is a good show.

Is too bad really good animes like this one never have a second season. I will probably devolve into reading the manga if it exist. Not going to read the light novels.

The first episode of the second season aired today. So, uh… surprise?

Woah. That is a surprise.

Yeah, you don’t often see shows get new seasons four years later.

WAAAAAAAAAATTTT.

After watching it:
Very “soft” episode by the standards of the serie. Good to reconnect people. I like that the drawing style has not lost his spark. Is going to be awesome to see where this goes.

@Otagan thanks for the tip!

Decent first episode of God of High School. Main protagonist seems a bit fun/goofy which is a nice change from the mopey heroes.

I’m finally getting caught up. I thought I could start from the last episode of Season 2 before I watched Attack on Titan Season 3, and that would get me caught up. But I have no clue what was going on in that episode, so I started farther back, I restarted season 2 again.

Unlike last time, Hulu has the Dub available this time, and oh man, I’d forgotten how good the Dub cast was. This is one of the rare cases where I find the English cast way better than the Japanese cast. Rewatching Season 2 first with the Dub is going to be a blast. And the nice thing is, Season 3 dub is already available, so I’m glad I didn’t watch Season 3 last October.

I watched all of Season 2 of Attack on Titan again, and watched the first half of Season 3. There’s a break originally at that point, so I forced myself to stop and not watch any more episodes yesterday, just so that I could sit with it, and think about what had happened so far and anticipate what’s next, you don’t get to do when you’re just binging through episodes.

I think Season 2 has the best combination of Intro song and ending song so far. I really admire what they managed to do in the first half of Season 3. From the beginning they hinted at all this conspiracy stuff on how the internal human governments operate. I admire that they dealt with all that stuff in only a few episodes and completely dealt with it in a way so that it’s out of the way now, and it was interesting to see it all unfold too.

They had a tease for the second half of Season 3 at the end of the first part. God, they certainly know how to tease at the end of every episode and at the end of season break. So good.

Can’t wait for wesneday for more terror :D

I finally went back and finished up Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I think I had stopped at episode 79 or so which turned out to be right before some shit went down. Such an amazing series, can’t get more epic than that. Even though I would pause watching the series for awhile before returning to it, when I did return I would fall back in love with it immediately. Although it was pretty long at 110 episodes I can definitely see myself rewatching it. Some of the characters take a long time to get developed so I do want to go back and see what all they did when I wasn’t really paying attention to them.

After LOGH I lasted about a week before I jumped into LOGH Gaiden. I’m surprised how much I like it, it’s pretty good even though it’s not necessary to watch. Almost finished with season 1 which focused on Reinhard and Kircheis and it’s awesome seeing them kick ass and take names while rising in rank. Really fun when other characters that are important to them in the main series pop up for the first time too.

LoGH is some of the best Space Opera I’ve seen. I’m looking forward to them advancing further into the remake to watch the full story again. Pity the novel read so dry.

Have you seen Crest of the Stars and related sequels? Not as epic, but scratches some of the same itches:

LoGH is so good- Is sad that the remake changed the faces

I thought I’d read the name Legend of the Galactic Heroes before. It was from my VRV list, in case I ever subscribed. I wonder if it’s still on VRV or somewhere different now.

I’d recommend Mellowlink (which is set in the Votoms universe) if you’re hunting down old classics. I also like the old Tomino series a lot, especially Ideon, Xabungle, and Dunbine.

It’s on Hidive so it’s still also on VRV.

Wow - Hidive has Xabungle & Ideon! Always figured it was too niche to ever get translated. Ideon’s great - you can see where Eva gets its inspiration from. Doesn’t look like they have the movies that complete the storyline though.
