I should rewatch Irresponsible Captain tailor some day. And maybe Seikai no Monshou too.

Haven’t really thought about Seikai no Monshou in a long while. It’s too bad the original author basically gave up on the series although there’s probably enough material to make a full third season for Senki,

Theres something about Sikai no Monshou that make my mind go back to it.
Is like star trek, but based on space elves. Also combat is 2D in space. It has a “classic” feel that is unbeatable and his own thing. Also the “voyage of the heroe” give good excused for the story to zoom in details of this universe withouth doing info dumps much.
Also in my mind it lives next door to the Irresponsible Captain Tailor, for no reason, very different serie, except space elves, I guess.
I’ll have to give Fruit Baskets a try.
I’ve seen a few episodes of Laid Back Camp. It’s watchable despite basically nothing ever happening.
The last movie is coming to Prime Video in the U.S. on August 13th. I saw that in the review posted here:
Looks like the character of Shikinami Asuka Langley is alive again in this movie, so I guess this is quite different from the original Neon genesis Evangelion.
Let’s what I would need to watch to catch up:
From Wikipedia:
On September 9, 2006, Gainax confirmed a new animated film series called Rebuild of Evangelion , consisting of four movies. The first film retells the first six episodes from the series but from the second film onward the story is different, including new characters, Evas and Angels. The first film, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone , was released in Japan on September 1, 2007, with Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance released on June 27, 2009 and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo released on November 17, 2012. The final film, titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time , was released on March 8, 2021 after two delays.
Looks like the first 3 movies aren’t available for streaming anywhere. I might have to venture into the seedier parts of the internet to look for those.
Amazon is planning to add the previous movies to Prime as well.
I’ve been watching Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, glad we got another season of this. Cute and funny with heart, love seeing these characters again.

I am not a huge fan of evangelion but this one looks like is going to be a amazing visual and aestethics show, a glorius update for our modern design sense.
Except the CGI, the CGI in this short trailer just looked bad.
Reading through this article as someone who just, like, hyper-casually ingests anime, these premises are insane.
Beastars tells the story of a wolf who wants to have sex with a rabbit, but worries he will devour said rabbit.
Fruits Basket lures viewers in with the promise of a cute story about a family that turns into animals when they’re hugged
The story follows the young Yuji Itadori, a good-hearted school boy who one day eats an actual finger, which served as a vessel for a powerful demon called Sukuna.
A slice-of-life mystery drama centered on Odokawa, a 40-something year old taxi driver who also happens to be a walrus in a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, who may or may not be implicated in the disappearance of a missing girl.
I was feeling nostalgic this week and watched some later season Ranma 1/2, and as a friend of mine noted: it’s impossible for it to jump the shark because literally nothing is more insane than its core premise.

I stumbled across an awesome new anime and had to share it with you guys.
It’s set in England in the 1940s and is in a similar style to old black and white war movies (think The Dam Busters). It’s about an elite squadron of teenage girls except instead of planes they fly around in boots with propellers.
… oh and for some reason they don’t wear any pants :D
… and for some bizarre reason they all grow animals ears and tails when they fly in their boots
… and they’re fighting aliens from outer space not Nazis (although they could be Nazi aliens?!)
Possibly mildly NSFW
Strike Witches - Complete Series -On DVD 3/30/10- Anime Clip 1 - YouTube
I have definitely not watched 7 episodes of this and have definitely not seen the episode where they steal each others underwear. I implore my fellow members of QT3 to avoid this filth ;)
How is that England?
That’s the rising sun, asahi battle flag

That particular character is Japanese but their “air base” is in England. The show is set at their base… in England.
Looks like it’s WW2 but not WW2 because we were not the baddies. Kinda uncomfortable.

Something tells me you may not be the target audience for this one ;)

This, but unironically. Strike Witches is bad. It’s an utterly generic “stock character teens fight boring alien invaders” anime, with an insufferable fanservice gimmick bolted on. I’d rather watch even Darling in the Franxx again than another episode of Strike Witches.
I have to admit, I was very intrigued by Fruit Basket’s first episode until the ending, when the main character accidentally finds out that hugging them turns them into animals. I have a really hard time pressing play on Episode 2 as a result.
