Thank you for your service!

I move Haikyuu be removed from @TurinTur’s Top Anime list until they finish the damned thing.

I can’t remember if it’s been recommended here yet, but I watched the first four episodes of Your Lie in April. So far I love it! An anime focused on classic music played by middle school kids, and it really does a good job in bringing the music to life. Now, granted the show could pull a Nana, where it takes a wonderful start and turns into a weird tragedy, but I hope that doesn’t happen.

I thought the first half (?) of Your Lie in April was good, but the second half removed it from anything I’d recommend. I don’t think the second (act, story, ?) was terrible or anything, and now that it’s been a while I hardly even remember it, but I definitely remember being disappointed in it after the first part.

Ymmv, obviously.

No details yet but looks like a new Gundam TV series will debut next year

Tomino’s also working on a Gundam side story movie that’s supposed to be a revised version of Episode 15 of the original TV series…which is a bit odd, to say the least. I guess he wants to clean up the weaker parts of the original series as part of his legacy.

Thanks… Anselm?, it seems you post got flaged has a bot. Wellcome if you are a person, human being, angel, alien but not robot.

We are robotfobes here :D

Stupid bots. I hate them! Smarter bots like Lt Cmdr Data, I think I’d get along with.

Maybe it’s a cat that somehow loves Gundams…?

We don’t usually get a second season, but got lucky

Sweet. I’m glad I’ve already read the whole Light Novel in that particular case, so even if they don’t finish the story, I’ve already read it all. But it would be neat if they kept going with the anime for a long time. (The light novel is really, really long).

I’m still enjoying Your Lie in April. Up to episode 13 now, I think. My only major criticism is that the opening and closing songs are hilariously bad, both in the first half of the season and the second half. For a show about music and Chopin, they sure could have chosen much better opening and closing songs.

I’m pretty sure that’s the last episode of what I think of as the first half of the show. The story arc changes.

I could be wrong, and they are definitely related, not quite as distinct as I’m making it.

SakugaBlog makes an article on perhaps, the most special anime of the year, Sonny Boy

It’s truly an unique experience. At first I didn’t mesh well with it, during the first episodes, but later both the series and me embraces the fact this is more a pure magical realism/surreal style with dreamlike logic sometimes, and under that perspective the series is a must watch.

Interesting how some months ago I was thinking “woah anime nowadays is terrible”, but the I discovered Sonny Boy, and now i started Heike Story, which both looks great (good direction too) and it’s much different than other current animes. Not isekai here

I’ve had my eye on this, but I’m waiting for some of the English dubs to build up before I start watching.

I’ll have to swing back around to it, I guess. The first episode just seemed like strange for the sake of strange, with no reason or rhyme.

Oh,later episodes are stranger. The series not being super upfront about it is the issue I take. At first it seemed to be similar to drifting classroom / lord of the flies, with something approaching a plot with a long term goal, but it isn’t like that.

Have you watched Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu?

Interesting. That’s not the impression I got from the first episode at all. It felt more like a show that wasn’t going to have a long term goal or go with a Lord of the flies thing because it refused to really explore its characters even it had a chance to. So that’s why I figured it was a how that was strange for the sake of strange.

One of my favorites ever!

Ok good, just checking. From what you were saying I knew you’d like it! :D
