Thumbs down for Wonder Egg Priority.
It started out pretty good and interesting. The main characters had personality and development, and the subject matter was different than most shows despite being a bit depressing. I could have done without the monster of the week aspect, but at least the show spent less episode time with that as the series progressed.
However the show went downhill during the last couple of episodes. The ending was very confusing in the first place, and it introduced some last minute characters and reveals that completely changed the purpose of the show. The answer for the main character’s mystery question was totally suspect.
It really felt like the creators ran out of time and crammed two extra seasons’ worth of content into the last episodes. Or they just had no plan in the first place about what the overall plot was supposed to be.
Too bad since the story and subject matter seemed pretty unique at the start.
D’oh!
The Urusei Yatsura remake seems… exactly the same?

Watching Black Lagoon and really enjoying it so far. Entertaining characters, good music/animation, and great Hong Kong style action.

Black Lagoon is amazing.
The dubbed voices are shameful for the most part though, which is the only negative I can really say about it, but is also easily rectified.
It’s incredible how they dropped the ball in this series. Like, woah.
I’m finally getting around to watching Demon Slayer. The story is not amazing (though serviceable), but I can really appreciate the artwork for the characters and animation. I just got finished with episode 19 (hinokami) and some of the animation was just beautiful.
I guess I need to give that another shot. I thought Episode 1 had potential, but I was so bored by Episode 2 that I never went back.
Yeah, stick with it. I started the show twice awhile back and fell off after the first couple of episodes. This last time I kept watching and finished all available episodes in a couple of days.
The first season mostly sets up the story and characters, and after that the second and third arcs are pretty much all great looking fight scenes without any filler.
Watching Chainsaw Man. Just a few episodes in and the protaganist appears to have a singular motivation (maybe more accurate to say two). edit: what @TurinTur said.
Also got into SpyxFamily which is delightful palate cleanser from all the devil/demon/monster slaying shows.

Absolutely love Black Lagoon. Quickly working through the second season.
What’s Black Lagoon about?
The adventures of a misfit mercenary company.
Who needs a new pair of shoes? Darling?!

BTW, I watched the 4th episode yesterday, and I’m still not sure what to think of this anime, beyond ‘good animation’. The story barely has started, I guess.

I read the manga first arc (about 100 issues) in about three to four days because it was like WHAT?!?! The story takes its time to build up but I couldn’t stop reading it. Only other thing I recall being like that for me was Death Note.
Can’t believe no one has mentioned the new Gundam Series, Witch from Mercury (since it started, anyway). It’s been a blast so far. Also very pretty.
You don’t need to know anything about the franchise to enjoy this. I’d recommend checking it out for anyone that likes the sound of a high school mecha show with a hint of a magical girl feel.
Tatami Time Machine Blues is a weird anime, it’s a sequel to the beloved cult classic Tatami Galaxy, but more than a real sequel is more… like on OVA. It has that feel of ‘one more adventure with the characters you love’ while at the same time not changing anything important of the characters or plot. So in that regard recommendable if you liked Tatami Galaxy, which was a kind of anthology of stories reusing the same characters, but it’s that, one more story for the anthology.
I’m watching Mob Psycho Season 3, and well, honestly it’s kind of slow. It needed four episodes of setup for the real meat of an arc. Although it was a very good climax.
I was randomly surprised when I went to Hulu to watch something else and it popped Tatami Time Machine Blues as a new Hulu Original. Should I binge/catch up on the original Tatami Galaxy (which I think is still trapped in Funimation – might not have made it over to Crunchyroll yet) before watching TTMB on Hulu?
I recommend Tatami Galaxy in general because -it’s good- but It’s not essential to watch it before Time Machine Blues, actually, because the particular conceit this series uses, where they kinda… rewind time and present ‘alternative timelines’ of people in university. And in any case is easy to get gist, it’s very much a boy meets girl story (and boy has a frenemy mate). The only but I can think is that the characters are introduced more gracefully in the first series, while in the second they kinda all appear in one go.
Cool, I’ll probably knock out Galaxy soon, as it’s just 11 episodes in one season.
