Bad year turned… good?
We got Arcane, Cyberpunk Edgerunner,… very good stuff, and now Chainsaw Man, that is good.
Arcane was released on 2021 , though :P.
Attack on Titan last season part 2 was 2022 as well. That was good too I hope. I haven’t seen it, waiting for the last part to come out so I can watch it all together.

Maybe it depends on when you watch it ; )
By that standard Ranma 1/2 could potentially be a 2022 release!
I just finished Tiger and Bunny (2022). It did not hold up to the premise.
I am sad that I watched it all.

I liked Tiger & Bunny the first time I watched it and thought the newest version would continue the story but it was a remake so stopped watching it.
Are you sure you watched the 2022 version? That wasn’t a remake, but a continuation of the story. It set up after they kill the president of the network, and started a new format called the buddy system.
Oddly enough, it’s a Netflix original.

I could have sworn I watched the new version. Oh well I guess its me just getting older.

According to a New Yorker profile I read a while back, he unretired in 2016 to make a final film to leave behind for his grandson. I feel The Wind Rises would’ve made for a fine final statement to his exceptional career, but I’m thrilled to see he’s wrapped animating another feature given he’s in his 80s. The concept image in the tweet above kinda resembles the style Takahata used in Princess Kaguya, which is making me eager to see a proper reveal.
There is this Jojo meme
which funnily also an be applied to Jojo itself, because the series is full of bullshit you have to pass to go on with the story, but man, Part 6 is in another level. So much bullshit in the fights and in the explanations.
At least, I liked overall the ending.
It’s basically a meme now:
Don’t watch Lookism on Netflix. Terrible cliches, predictable revenge fantasy for ugly people, over exaggerated bullying and plot driven by lack of communication between characters

One thing that’s apparent about Studio Ghibli if you watch some of the documentaries is that the entire studio is basically operates as a scaled assistant for Miyazaki and his vision vs a collection of professional departments supporting film development like pretty much any other studio out there.
I don’t have much hope of a post-Miyazaki Ghibli and I think everyone knows it.
Nobody told me this was the last season of Mob Psycho 100. The season tied up the threads of the show really well and had a great ending, but damn I’m gonna miss it one of the better mixes of wholesome thoughtful dialog mixed with great action and some damn fine animation.
Season 2 is still my favorite opening for the song and animation of the 3 seasons, but all 3 openings are pretty damn good. I have a niece at Mass Art studying animation, and she’s absolutely in love with what BONES managed to pull off.
A fun video that breaks down the season 2 intro as a shout out to the art of animation:
Haven’t watched the last episode. Have enjoyed the show so much. Love how they had the same vocalist for the different openings. This last one is just bonkers.
