I watched Evangelion for the first time in 25 years.

I sure as hell missed a ton of stuff back when I was just watching for the robot fights, I’ll say that much.

Evangelion is a trip.

How is the season going? Not very well, that’s how. I dropped most, then Nier Automata has a covid related (or so they say) hiatus for a few weeks, just after the first three episodes, and the Fire Hunter, one of the few series I was watching has chosen to disintegrate before my eyes, like, it’s clear they don’t have budget at all (and on top of that, it some super weird directional choices).

AoT Final Season Part 3 will have two one hour long episodes.

I tried watching Part 2, and I discovered that I didn’t remember enough what happened in Part 1, so I stopped right away. I need to watch both Part 1 and Part 2 right before Part 3 comes.

Someone at Amazon needs to be talked to.

I’m not familiar. Is that not the name of the Anime then?

That was the last anime I watched for a loooooong time, whenever it came out. 2005ish? Until about 3 years ago, when fox.mrs wanted to watch Steins;Gate.

The op lets you know you’re in for a laugh riot! Comedy TV at its finest.

That song is burned into my soul for… reasons. >_>

Same. Surely because of all the laughs we had.
Hahaha…
stares numbly at a wall for 2 hours

Tragedy is when a misfortune happens to you. Comedy is when it happens to someone else

“Comedy”.

Literally the first frame of the first episode.

Violencedy or disturbedy or saddedy

Some of these sound great. I’ll wait until the end of 2023 though, to see if they panned out.

3 episodes into Cyberpunk: Edgerunners now, and I have to admit, this is a pretty great show.

Hey cool, the rest of the Uncle from Another World showed up (up to episode 13 at least). Yay! I watched three episodes last night. Still a really great comedy.

Edit: I binged the rest of the episodes on this Saturday morning. I really like this show. I hate how it makes me want to look up all these old Sega games though, because I just know that I’ll probably end up disappointed in them in real life.

Finished Season 1 (really 0.5) of Gundam Witch from Mercury and I have to say I like what they did towards the end.

But, since the middle is a little bit slow and muddled, the overall judgement on the series will have to wait. If they lean hard in the direction of the last two episodes for the second half, this could be a mazing. If we go back to school for more than 2-3 episodes, well, I don’t know how that can work out into a super satisfying story unless we get the full 48 episode treatment.

Next season starts airing tomorrow, I think, so I’ll find out soon.

Have you guys seen myanimelist.net today? Cats everywhere.

I didn’t finish any series from last season (well, Nier Automata was paused on episode 8, so it couldn’t finish). Bad season.

For the new one, i started Heavenly Delusion, which seems to be more the ‘premier’ anime, with higher production values, good direction, and scifi concept.

But i know it’s based on a manga still running, so don’t expect an ending…

Challenging all common sense, I started a few new series this week. Let’s see if (how) they disappoint me!

First one is , Insomniacs After School, or Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia. Actually, I’m pretty sure this will be good, I read the first four-five chapters of the manga time ago and I liked it. It’s a simple SoL/romance series, of two teenagers joined by their common ill: insomnia. They meet by trying to get some shut eye in a forgotten area in the school, and as you can imagine, they will grow close in time. The important thing in any case here isn’t the story, it’s chemistry between the protagonists, their charisma/je ne sais quoi, and vibe of the series, and in that regard, it’s pretty good. It’s comfy and a the same time their special situation allows to an almost taken from a fantasy novel, very magical feeling, romance.

Dead Mount Death Play is much probable that I will drop at some point. It’s a ‘reverse iseaki’, of some evil necromancer from a fantasy world dying and appearing the our world. No idea how it will be beyond the premise, except it has a least a pair of hooks already to follow, like who wanted to kill the guy who he reincarnated in.

Ohi no Ko is the last one, and it has premiered with a triple episode (90 minutes). It feels pretty special, at least in the sense of being damn original. It’s better to not know what is about, beyond knowing it’s about the idol culture in Japan. But saying that wouldn’t attract people like me that think idols are stupid, so I will add that there is more than meet the eye, like murders and mystery and a supernatural element.

I looked this one up. One of the character names attracted my attention: Aquamarine Hoshino

It is a composite of 3 hololive characters hahaaha. Aqua, Marine, and Hoshinova
