Been watching a lot of Gundam 00. Something about a Sniper Gundam just makes me giddy with happiness.

The soldiers on both sides are so cute, I can’t decide who’s actually evil!

I hear they’re making a sequel to Full Metal Alchemist. I wonder where they’re going to start the story from?

Is this serious or just a well-produced joke?

If you’re referring to Cat Shit One, it most definitely is not a joke.

I finally watched Gurren Lagann. It lived up to the hype.

Season 2 has LOYALTY, goddammit.

Lockon Stratos, SNIPING THE TARGET!

Oh my god, there’s just something hilariously funny about that. And no I never did like Happy Tree Friends.

I’ve been watching Gundam 00 too, the mecha design is awesome, all gundam’s are cool, especially Tieria Erde’s.

However I’m not yet getting the tension from character motivations that I did with Gundam Seed. It’s a mecha anime, but that did actually happen in Gundam Seed. Not to say it’s bad, actually it’s pretty good, but I loved Seed.

Does it get better (I’m at episode 7)?

Really? Despite all the OMGZ_BEST_ANIME_EVER comments i have always seen about it all over the interwebs, i couldn’t really get into into after 7-8 episodes :|

You are just not HOT-BLOODED enough.
Normally I roll my eyes at this kind of anime, but Lagann gave me several quarter-to-three watching sessions. It definitely gets way better later, but I don’t remember when things starts to pick up.

I believe it’s around episode 8 actually.

You have to like the OVER THE TOP in anime.

But Gurren Lagann takes it ALL THE WAY OVER THE TOP, and I salute them for it.
It’s everything that Evangelion was trying not to be.

cute anime voice Target Destroyed!

Yeahhhhh.

Anyways, just re-watched the Afro-Samurai series. The directors cut was much better than the series alone.

And I also watched the entirety of the Zoids: New Century with Liger Zero and the interchanging armor. God that was an awesome show.

Spring preview:

Honestly not a whole lot interesting, though I’ll most definitely watch Eden of the East. No interest in Fullmetal Alchemist, and especially not a renewed version of the original show. Queen’s Blade looks like its one hair short of hentai, and Basquatch’s animation looks great but… basketball playing mecha? Ugh.

I’m slowly working my way through Twelve Kingdoms. I’m up to episode 7 or 8 now and liking it a lot. It’s very different and I find myself needing to write names down or I miss things (Keiki vs. Kou vs. Kei and Yuki vs. Youko for example). I don’t mind as it seems very intelligently written and I’m thinking the chances of a giant robot showing up is zero.

It gets better! It can kind of drag in parts but it’s still easily my favorite Anime series. It’s adapted from a series of young adult novels from Japan, which are being brought over 1 per year by Tokyo Pop. So far 3 have been released, and I can say at least the first two seem to be good translations.

Once you finish Twelve Kingdoms (it unfortunately ends abruptly) I would recommend checking out Mushishi, it’s the other anime that I still think of fondly.

I just finished Detroit Metal City, which was surprisingly funny if you don’t mind the crudity. I had no idea what to expect going in, which is probably a good way to tackle it.

Hasn’t the author pretty much given up on the series though?
