Ooh Fairy tale is being animated. This is a Bleach/Naruto style shonen hit but it reminds me more of Law of Ueki which I really liked. I love these big shonen series for the first arc before they completely lose focus and go DBZ style retarded.
Seriously all these shonen shows should be capped at 50 episodes or better still 26.
I also though that a new History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi series would drop this fall but I guess that is happening in the winter?

With 1/10 of their appeal.
The manga uses the exact same style of One Piece, the artist is good but the story is borderline awful. It’s like One Piece stripped of anything that makes it good.

I’m wary of posting torrent links here, but in a few days I found remastered, high quality versions of Macross, original Gundam, Z Gundam, Great Mazinga and Kamen Rider Kuuga up to episode 8 :)
…not posting torrents either, but Agito is fully English translated! From CAP-BR? Who are they?

I’d agree that the characters are not as strong as some of the one piece characters but one piece managed to pack filler into the manga never mind the anime which was unbearably slow.
Fairy tale keeps the pace up and that goes along way in my book.

So I may have been a liar and slave up above when I said Unicorn Gundam was confirmed for film. Some credible evidence surfaced over the weekend suggesting that it may actually be some sort of OVA series with a film compilation expected to come of it.
It’s been a long time since Sunrise produced a substantial OVA series so I’m not really sure what to make of this. We’re kind of back at the point where we know Unicorn is being produced but not really how. Curiously, Sunrise is sticking religiously to the Winter 2009 date so it shouldn’t be too much longer before details are more certain.
awright! transformer X Gundam mashup!
wait, it’s not Unicron.
I’m really curious about the premise. Pretty weird for Sunrise to go back to the UC universe. But the scant info on wikipedia is promising.

It’s not entirely unexpected. I read an interview one of the Japanese anime mags did with the President of Sunrise during the height of the Gundam SEED boom (2005-06ish). There was a question about what he wanted to do next with Gundam now that it was popular again.
His response was that he wanted two things from Gundam in the next few years: an original series that could open the North American market up the way Gundam Wing did and a project to appeal to older Gundam fans who felt “left out” by the teen-oriented SEED approach.
Gundam 00 was pretty nakedly the project meant to pique the interest of North American fans. Producing a new U.C. Gundam OVA or film with Yasu designs that’s a sequel to CCA is a pretty sensible way to appeal to the over-30 set of Gundam fans. I’m just glad it’s Unicorn and not Crossbone that got the nod for animation.
HRose: Go get Agito. Now! It’s really really good. I’ve already watched 14 eps, and the shows are great! with all the mystery elements and the 2.5 separate yet totally intertwined threads. Come to think of it, it’s like Heroes! PM me if you need help finding it, but I think all the clues are on this page already.
Good to see them going back to the UC. All my favorite stuff is still the stuff in that timeline.
I just noticed Bandai has officially put up some complete anime seasons for streaming on Youtube, most notably Code Geass season 1.

Most of the stuff they’ve put up is dubbed, alas.
Oh. My. God.
FMA Brotherhood ep19 was fucking amazing.
Yeah, it was pretty sweet.

So recently Newtype ran a piece about Unicorn Gundam that referred to it as a TV show. Within days of the story hitting, Kadokawa issued a retraction stating that Newtype shouldn’t have referred to the production as a TV show.
Maybe Bandai is just going to beam it directly into people’s minds.
They’re really keeping info tight on this one, aren’t they? What’s the big deal if they reveal it’s an OVA series, a TV series, or a series of movies?

I really can’t think of why there would be one. It suggests some sort of behind-the-scenes conflict with the Gundam Group, but it’s hard to say what. Possibly budget issues?
I’ve started watching G-Gundam from the beginning. There’s lots to love about this series, visually. It’s the height of 90s style anime, lots of posing, crazy hair, and destruction.
The story and dialog are just brutal so far.
