Played the intro missions. Performance on my aging rig is a lot better, and my 970 seems to handle it well enough on medium. The load times are also not that bad. Haven’t experienced any bugs yet.

I don’t have anything in particular to do, so I decide to go into freeplay with my harvesting build. I’d gotten another 10% harvest added to my total earlier and wanted to see if it put me over a threshold. For some reason I went into gm1.

Turns out, I did pass a threshold and am now getting 5 embers a pop. Awesome. Decide to run around for a bit. Manage to complete a skorpion event solo. Skorpions are easy, but this build is pretty terrible for grandmaster. I can take some damage, but don’t have much offense.

Stumble across another event right by the strider. Outlaws this time. I decide to give it a shot. Takes a while for the boss to spawn. I’m doing ok up til then. Boss is a legendary elementalist type. Crap. A lancer I might have been able to handle, but I just don’t have the tools to deal with a heavily shielded airborne enemy on this character. On top of that, I’ve been hit with the sound bug for only the second time. Great.

No chance I’m completing this event, so I decide to do another sweep nearby of stuff to harvest and log off. I’m just about to log when I realize another player is nearby. Pulling up the map, I can see they are at the event site. I fly back over there and the boss is already down. I hit one of the last mobs left and see a flash of yellow.

Second legendary today. Both in freeplay, This build only has 30 luck on it, I think. I head back to the fort. Like the first, this was also gear, but not a dupe this time. And my first masterwork with a big time inscription.

Does Anthem freeze for anyone else on PC?

Today, I discovered that using my Xbox One controller in bluetooth was totally fucking up my frame rates on my PC. Disconnecting it as a bluetooth device and plugging it directly in via a USB cable fixed it.

Freeze? You mean lock up for a second or two then keep going? Not typically, no. But I was having that after the patch that was supposed to make streaming off hdds better, until I moved to an ssd. As noted previously, I blamed my weird hybrid setup for that.

Something odd happened while I was playing today, not sure it was a bug but not sure what else to call it. I was playing the Fortress of Dawn mission, right at the end kind of between cutscenes and the screen went to black and then - didn’t come back. Not for quite some time at least. Felt like two minutes but had to have been at least a full minute, long enough for me to think the game had frozen up and seriously consider killing the session. But eventually it did come back up - noticed at the scoring point at the end though that one of the randoms in my group had dropped out.

Wow! How weird. I play with the Xbox One controller via bluetooth and haven’t had any issues. Thanks for the info though, if any of my friends run into it I’ll pass that along… I don’t think any of us would have ever thought to change the controller. :)

Wonder if there’s a cutscene you didn’t see…or maybe it was waiting for that guy to reconnect?

Also, I learned on Reddit today that Scar drills can leave tunnels behind when you destroy them. Anybody seen one of these?

Well, this is straight nonsense.

Nonsense my ass. Using exploits, like this guy did, have gotten loot nerfed for the rest of us. He can suck it.

Wow, running around the map opening chests… Total economy exploit. There’s $60+ down the drain. Ridiculous shit if his side of the story is true.

That’s not the worst of it.

Chest & Boss farming are not exploits, if unintended but still doable it’s a symptom of shitty design and even shittier QA.

Unlimited ability spam on a specific class, completely Bioware’s fault.

Bioware needs to fix their stuff so players don’t have to deal with them overreacting to players playing their buggy game in the most efficient way. Fucking knuckleheads.

Dying repeatedly in order to open a chest again and again sure as hell is.

I disagree completely.

They were always going to reverse the loot draw bug, because they said it was unintentional. This guy didn’t ruin it for anyone, he was just playing the game he bought.

He played this game the same way you play any other loot based game, like a Diablo or a Titan’s Quest, or World of Warcraft for that matter, it sounds like to me, and got slapped for it.

in a PVE freaking game no less.

World chests and stronghold chests were both nerfed because of people like this. Good riddance.

No, they were nerfed because Bioware designed the chest refresh system for shit.

Incorrect.

Not what I’m talking about, Scott. Actually, the last sentence is, if I recall call the timing correctly. Think that was the nerf to world chests. Not positive.
