I feel like they are gonna give it their best, and then end up shelving this a year or so from now with nothing to show for it, and no one will care.
I’m surprised they still have a studio called Bioware.
Chances are they’ll kill them off soon, then in a few years we’ll get another online service/storefront called “Bioware Online” as a feature update to “Origin”
Funny, I just came across this video in my feed, figured I’d post it here. I guess stuff is still happening over there.

Those all seems like very common sense changes that will likely make things dramatically better. This is positive news and I don’t mean to bring a note of negativity into it, but I’m just… it’s astounding that we’re 1.5 years out and they’re now figuring this shit out. Stuff like “respect your time” and “not completely random” and “no more worthless items missing must have inscriptions”. This is the sort of thing you’d expect to see revamped within the first couple months of launch!
Now, that out of the way, I’m really enthused about a revamped Anthem or an Anthem 2.0 free to previous Anthem owners or whatever. I really enjoyed the gameplay, the loot chase and everything else was just abysmal.
I know it’s just me but I couldn’t care less about loot.

And for my part, I couldn’t care less about story, narrative, and things like that. I’m a garage gamer, the guy who enjoys tweaking the car/mech/spaceship/javelin just right and then blowing it all up and building a new rig to play a different way. A lot of games (like Anthem) choose to do that through loot, so when loot sucks it short circuits everything.
EDIT: Did that sound like a “clap back” or anything like that? Not intended, just conversing about what games mean to different people (myself) and why Anthem 1.0 didn’t work for me in the endgame. :)
I wasn’t actually replaying to you but yes, I know a lot people of like that. It’s not narrative I like in Anthem either, it’s rocketing around a beautiful alien world.

Yeah, sorry, the way I worded things came off in a way I didn’t intend. Sounded a little argumentative or whatever and all I meant to say “Yeah, and for me this is why the loot was important and why it didn’t work”. I’m kinda crap at text communication a lot of the time. :)
I haven’t touched the game in a long time. Heck I don’t even own it now, since I had it through EAs pass thing. But I did love the crap out of it for a time and would happily give it another go if they can get their shit together.
I think we’ve regained customary amicable relations!
Origin is selling it at full price, yeesh.
Or 5 bucks a month, to be fair.
Sure, but I’m not really interested in an Origin sub right now. Amazon has it for much less.
Have they added any significant new content since the debacle of a launch? Or is it the same two raids?

Honestly, if I were EA I wouldn’t drop price until the revamp / 2.0 is out. The game was a flop and for those people who still haven’t tried it, I’d prefer their first impression to be the new version.
Should have bought it for 6 bucks back in December, lol
Didn’t one of the developers on the loot 2.0 rehash of Diablo 3 tell them everything they needed to do, and offered to help, back in pre-release?
Welcome to the past Anthem.
I recall a Diablo dev making suggestions, yes.
On sale on origin for 8.99 for PC. Not sure on console. Totally worth that to me on the chance they deliver
