Thanks for the heads up! - I grabbed it.

Yeah, thanks… picked it up too!!

$8.55 @ GMG. I got it there. :P

Y’all are crazy.

I hope they abandon it and make the next thing instead.

But I’m tempted too. $9 is not that much to spend on the chance that it turns into something much better. Though you’d think that at that point they would make the base game free to play and find a new way to monetize additional content instead.

If you like Iron man, it’s a no brainer at $9. The gameplay is a lot of fun if you aren’t just about loot and until the Endgame, the loot is decent. Content runs out after a lot of hours, and you may get stuck with loot only players rushing through some mp content (or end up trying to solo content meant for Mp) , but the flying and shooting /ability mechanics are a lot of fun, and it’s pretty.

I played it during the initial $1 EA pass offer and I found it insufferable. One of the few games I genuinely hated.

Yeah, similar, I played it with EA Pass and just found it really boring. I’m not even sure why, just, completely utterly boring and couldn’t motivate myself to keep playing past 2 or 3 missions.

USERNAME DOES NOT CHECK OUT

I mean its $9, how bad can it be? :D

I loved the core gameplay. So, if they can make continuing to play worthwhile in any way shape or form, this will be money well spent.

Game isn’t even finished. There’s no content.

Yeah, the game originally released in what, February of 2019? That’s a year and a half. They may gussy it up some here and there, but I would be surprised if losses haven’t been written down already and things have moved on with EA and where they’ve placed Bioware’s focuses.

If you like the game as it is, fair play! For nine bucks I can imagine there’s a lot of fun to be had.But if you’re expecting a whole lot more…well, I’d be a a bit surprised if that happened.

Well, they have been talking publicly about a 2.0 revamp recently.

I hope that it happens! At $9, if it’s your thing…maybe not the worst bet a gamer could make.

To be clear, I don’t have any faith in EA whatsoever, especially in a situation like this. But BioWare has been talking about a 2.0 revamp recently so there’s some basis for the speculation that the game may improve.

For $9, I think the game is totally worth it. I had fun flying around as Iron Man. The game has absolutely no legs, though, and for those who care about story it seems the story isn’t that great either. Flying around as Iron Man, though? I’d pay $9 for that.

Agreed. Though I also agree it’s a bit of a gamble if you are only buying it with the hope the 2.0 happens (e.g. hadIt through Origin before). If someone hasn’t played it before, there’s definitely fun to be had, just don’t expect any sort of endgame

I did succumb to temptation yesterday and tried to buy the game for $9. But for some reason Origin wouldn’t accept my paypal payment no matter how many times I tried. I checked and bought something else using paypal this morning, so it must just be Origin. Oh well. It was destined not to be.

I’ve been playing this the last week or so. I picked it up a while back on sale for $11 or something on Xbox, planning on giving it a run when the 2.0 version hit. But I’ve played through a bunch of smaller, narrative-focused games lately so decided I wanted a big, sprawling pew-pew sort of thing as a change of pace. Since I have no desire to go back to Destiny 2 or Warframe (spent way too much time in them already), this one won out.

I’m having a lot of fun with it. The fact that it looks amazing on the XboneX helps, for sure, but it plays well, and the upgrade/loot system is fine. No, it isn’t ‘classic Bioware’ but it is fun for what it is. Since I’m generally not concerned with the post-game loot grind (one of my big peeves is that these companies want/expect you to play their game all the time, forever- or at least until the next version comes out), I’m pretty sure I’ll find it worth the money I spent, and then can move on to the next thing.

I’ve gotten to the point of the game that the actual missions seem to be drying up for a bit, so they want you to cruise around in freeplay, which I was dreading, but turns out to be really fun! The world is lively, with stuff going on all the time, and I’m finding all sorts of nooks and crannies to get lost in.

I swear it’s on sale on Xbox at least once a month. If you think it sounded at all interesting, I’d say it’s worth it.

I love the core gameplay. It just didn’t have the content to back up a full retail price. Absolutely worth grabbing at a deep discount, imo. And if they actually finish 2.0, potentially a huge bargain.

So Anthem a Realm Reborn is not out yet?
