Just the fact that I can’t even use any loot I find while I’m out in the world until I go back to that area is the dumbest design ever for a loot game.

Is this something that only affects the end game or something? Because this hasn’t been an issue for me at all.
I read in one of the reviews, that there are up to 4 loading screens before you can change your weapon loadout? That can’t be right.
There’s no mid mission weapon swap (as far as I remember) so you need to load in and out of the world and in and out of the weapon swap screen…
I thought it was fine in practice. Everyone wants this to be a game about loot, and it didn’t seem to be very interested in that when I played it. Which is fine by me.
Apparently there’s a bunch of game tutorials on the EA web page.
It is an interesting read, both because the in game tutorial sections covers very little of this… that this one is more elaborate… AND because it contains gold like this:
‘Saving multiple loadouts at the Forge will give you the opportunity to swap them out quickly as needed’
Quickly…
Feels like the gameplay tutorial on the web page might’ve been written by someone who hasn’t actually played the game, but instead got a list of features.
I have played 25 hours. I’m 2/3 to the level cap and not done with the main story. Only 2-3 of those hours have been spent in freeplay I think. There is PLENTY here for a “single player game’s worth of entertainment”. The problem is that many people chose to ignore most of it then scream there was nothing to do.
This was a gold-medal post. :D

Can you solo the campaign, or are you forced to play with two mouthbreathing randos?
If you can solo, I’m probably in when it hits $15.

Is Doctor Harken the Monitor? What happens if you drill holes into him? Why do people and kids wear those goofy helmets? What the hell are Scars? Aren’t they the bad guys from Gears of War?
Why does Anthem throw overly self-important proper nouns at the new player and plaintively setup these mecha Grey Wardens as largely unearned “heroes” in the intro?

Yes, there’s a private mode option.
@stusser yeah, some of the missions might be a bit tricky solo, but it can be done. You can always turn down the difficulty if need be or get a friend to help. Even someone who is much higher level could play with you and it is balanced for that.
You can’t play strongholds in private mode so unless those aren’t required for story progression you’ll at least need to group up a few times.
Don’t think you have to for the story.
Oh my God. That Guardian review actually used this as the caption on a picture.
Visually stunning … Anthem’s alien world is stunningly portrayed.
You would have preferred, “Omfg, how can they have only one biome?”

I cracked up when someone posted a picture of the “candy bars Bioware had made to celebrate their Metacritic score” over on another website that isn’t Qt3.
