Been playing on hard, just now starting in on GM1. Will probably start with the legendary contracts and freeplay and work up to strongholds.
Dude, that’s terrrible! I’m assuming you have tried making a new pilot?
@AntediluvianArk I love the game, but it is a rough experience right now due to bugs. Waiting is not at all unreasonable.
On the legendary contracts: those are the purple ones? Under what circumstances do they guarantee a masterwork? Do you have to play on gm1 or higher?
@jsnell sorry, I just misread your post. I’m not 30 yet, so not getting masterwork embers as drops, I don’t think. But my understanding is that they are very farmable from gathering, particularly if you put on some +harvesting gear.
Tom had an opportunity to play it before release and do a mock review. I hope we get to hear more on that one day. His recent stream of the game seemed to me at least, that he enjoyed his time with some of it.
Oh ok, that’s probably why we didn’t get a Tom review. Not that I have anything against Nick’s review, I was just curious what Tom thought. I mean, beyond “ha ha, you’re playing Anthem!”

Yeah, I tried that and also uninstalling/reinstalling.

To be clear, i said that in my experience you find tons of crafting materials naturally, but that you could ALSO just buy them if necessary.
I like Luke Stephens. He seems to go into the games he reviews/plays/discusses wanting to like them very much…but doesn’t shy away from criticizing them when he finds fault.
Just curious, anyone reading the ingame emails?
I just found the email box.

Ya, there’s all kinds of stuff that gets sent to you from various characters and organizations. It’s easy to miss though, as nothing ever tells you that it’s even there.
Speaking of which, what’s the deal with the town crier guy who rants crazy stuff but then puts you on his sooper sekrit mailing list so he can send you even crazier stuff? Does that go anywhere, or just for flavor?
Also, do you dudes listen to the radio plays? If so, is your Crimson Lancer radio just looping the same two episodes? I want to know what happens to the sentient javelin, dammit!
Had terrible luck with the disconnects last night. Took me 6-7 tries just to get past the main screen then if I talked to any NPC it disconnects. That server error every time. Eventually got to play one mission with a buddy but spent over half my gaming time last night trying to get into the damn game.
The Grabbit detective story is quite nice.
I like the grabbit detective story too, though it kind of amuses me that the sounds of the grabbit are (I think) intended to be cute, and I find them a little creepy in an otherworldly way.
I’m still totally astonished they haven’t patched out the major game killing bugs that have been present since the unofficial launch of the game (I refuse to call that period early access).
Same thoughts here. As I was sitting there last night watching the disconnect error over and over I’m thinking why is this out right now? Did EA really need the financial boost they thought this would provide? Why not push it back another 3-4 months? How did these bugs not get figured out 6 years into development? I want this game to succeed because when it works I do really like it. As a casual player who really just will play with friends I don’t care about loot tables or endgame grinds but I do want the game to simply work when I only have 30-45 mins to play.
Yeah, if I were in Steve’s position and unable to play at all, I’d be pissed. He’s far from the only one in that position apparently. There’s no excusing that.
Yeah you’d think this was BioWare’s first game or something…
Yes.
This is what really worries me. All the talk seems to be about loot drops and non-functional component perks and lack of content…but really, who cares about any of that if we simply cannot reliably play the game we want to play?
My friend finally wrapped up the story last night. He’s on the final mission. Big buildup, he’s locked in, annnnnnd, fucking sound bug. So he either has to completely reboot and try again, or he plays through it with the sound off.
Bad bad bad.
Ugh. That’s terrible.
@Steve_G this sounds like a ridiculous amount of trouble, but it sounds like if you want to bother, you could make a new psn acct and a new ea account and get around the issue that way if you just want to play.
