My allergies are kicking my ass. A big part of it is we’re taking the house apart room-by-room to clean out as much as we can. The other part is our cats.
Price range is under $200, something that doesn’t cost a lot to maintain, doesn’t create ozone, and its primary function is to suck dust, pollen, and cat hair out of a messy room. If one could handle a workroom when I
I’m cutting that would be a big bonus too.
That’s actually quite cheap compared to some of the other purifiers out there.
AllergyBuyersClub has a good range of purifiers available, to fit any budget. I don’t know how well they all work, though, but from what I’ve heard the retailer at least has a decent reputation.
One thing it didn’t handle well is me smoking up my kitchen from frying chicken on an oiled pan that was way too hot (we don’t have kitchen ventilation, either). I had to take the Rabbit apart and wash the oil particles off of its internals. It took a few days of airing it out before it was back to normal.
I am in the market for a moderately to fairly good air purifier, primarily tasked with eliminating cooking odors as quickly as possible from a space that’s ~400-450 square feet roughly (albeit half of that with a vaulted ceiling, so maybe acts more like a 500 sq ft space). Ideally charcoal + HEPA, and if it’s ionizing, ideally without producing ozone.
I’d like to spend $100-150, but I am guessing that my room size takes me immediately into the $200 bracket; if so, I’d like at least my spend to get me something that’ll actually do a reasonable job clearing out Indian food cooking odors and not cost an arm and a leg in annual filter replacements.
