Maybe they meant actual pirates. As in, Apple, say, hired bands of pirates to attack Creative’s ships, and told them they wouldn’t stop until they took the drivers off of their page.

Awesome, although I’m curious why Creative just didn’t counter the bands of pirates with squadrons of ninja?

The first file in the list is the driver.

And they are NOT updates–I’ve done a fresh install with that driver myself.

Ooh, an update released this month.

But no, both my friend and I couldn’t do fresh installs off the site’s files back when we tried this summer. It may be different now.

Actually, I have a Nomad Zen NX 30 gb… Shortly after I first got it, I misplaced the CD. The full music management thingy was NOT on their site. Anywhere. So I dug deep and found the damn CD and reinstalled. THEN I could use the “updates” on their site.

Recently I lost the CD again. This time they had the full thing on their site. So they finally clued in.

It’s been my experience with Creative products that you can get the base drivers, but not the entire software suites. Of course we are talking about Creative, so that’s not totally a bad thing.
