It’s not gamers, it’s everyone and everything.
Every single hobby, sport, interest*, political arena, newspaper, everything, everywhere, has people trolling abuse and harassment at the drop of a hat using social networks.
The social networks need to insist on full anonymity for all, or no anonymity for anyone.

One suggestion I saw was accounts verified using IDs would be able to only interact with verified accounts.
You pretty much have two networks at that point, but if you are going to venture unmasked in the world of the anonymous you know what you are in for, whereas those that want to lose the security of anonymity have some form of protection.

2. Go anonymous
3. Don’t log on to twitter
4. Change Twitter (no photo ID no login)
5. Change the internet (remove concept of non-anonymity)
6. Change all societies.

The cherry picked paragraph you chose was my suggestion that harried Westerners move to Real ID social networks rather than force real ID on the planet because my concern was about maintaining anonymous global social networks for the likes of the aforementioned Bangladeshi bloggers.
