I have a really hard time plotting the quality of this show over time and getting anything meaningful out of it. I suppose it would be a gradual decline, but only the slight curve common to all but the rarest of shows. Every season seems pretty much the same to me; a few duds, but mostly lots of laughs. Even Vice changing up the formula didn’t result in any crazy spikes in my enjoyment, it was still the same characters making the same kind of jokes (which I like), just a slightly different premise.
I know what you mean, but I usually reserve judgment until the season’s over and I get to review the whole arc of the season. The Vice season felt random and scattershot but was redeemed by the last 6 episodes, which had some really nice character moments.
And I suspect that “really nice character moments” is what this season lacks. It just feels like running in place so far.
Phrasing? What happened to Phrasing. Also, I feel suckered, since I watch the first half of the season on hulu plus until I realized it was on Netflix and could watch it add free. Also, I binged watched it during tax season. Not my best move.
I have a theory. The puzzle is actually a bunch of parallel puzzles - that is,
If you solve any of [A,B,C,D] they will all lead to [E]. This ensures a higher chance people make progres in case nobody gets one clue. It’s kinda like what they do in some of those real-life trapped room games.
I read somewhere on the Reddit (no source sorry) that they submitted the clip to the FCC expecting it to be returned with corrections, but to their surprise, they allowed it.
They were so surprised they wondered if they should tone it down themselves. At the same time, they clearly went to some extra effort for the animation (as they did for the Archer-Katya kiss), so at some level they must have been hoping.
And yes, like Krieger, I didn’t delete that episode.
