We have other options turned on that allow our dinos to mate (via wandering) while we are offline. Official servers do not have this turned on for performance reasons.

Plus Officials do not have the hitching post, so allowing dinos to wander for mating isn’t a really good option.

I feel like ARK would be a lot different, playerbase-wise and development-wise, if there had never been, “official,” servers in the first place. Then again, it may not have been as popular.

OMG guys I hope you have been doing well, Kiptah here, with a new account cause I cant find the other ones password, sorry alot of stuff happened and I havent been on at all to play ark, but I really want to get back into it. Even though I have been gone for a while Im glad to see so many familiar names. Just a little bit about what Ive been doing I graduated from college this past Spring with two different degrees, having done 56 credits in a single year and right now working as a substitute teacher. I apologize I disappeared for forever, my computer totally bricked right before annihilation and Im sooooo sad. But I finally saved up enough to get a really nice gaming pc that can run Ark above 30 fps. Again I apologize for leaving but I hope to see you guys on the server some time. Btw I will need all the server info and such, cause I suck and am a big scrub. <3 from a tiny little rock in the Pacific.

Ugh alright, so a Titanosaur walked through my base and started to attack my dinos. I tried to whistle them to passive but the wouldn’t listen to me at all. I probably lost almost half of my total dinos to this thing that I, even will every single one of my dinos attacking it, would have absolutely no chance in killing. The loses include both Wyverns, all my megasloths, raptors, dung beetles, my rare super ape, all my non-tied down argys, my mantis, quetzal, tapajara, and many more that I continue to find the bodies of. Oh man what a thing to come back too. :( Can I get an F in chat guys, this is rough.

When they added titanosaur’s to the Scorched Earth map (different server) I went through and raised the walls around my base to 12 walls high. That prevents all titans from wandering in. It was ugly, but it was better than an aggroed titan.

As a side note, Kiptah, you still have an argent on SE. I had to claim and move it because I needed the spot where it was at for a taming pen. If you need it , let me know and I can get it back to you.

Just to update on the Titan incident, I think it just spawned in near my base cause for some reason I had the grand idea of putting a base right near a titan spawn, and just walked over. I literally have no idea how it aggroed, maybe my dinos were for some reason set to aggro (which is a terrible idea no matter what, seriously dont do it) and then things started to get real sad real fast. Also sorry about that Ragan I didnt realize I left it in the most inopportune place possible, Ill hope over to SE next time you are on and take it off your hands. Also you guys are so funny, hahaha. But yeah, I personally think the titan in my pen was a perfect reintroduction to the wonders of Ark.

Ark: Genesis just announced.

Not a lot of game play shown. Some interesting pieces, like lava drakes and a little lemur type animal that hulks out when it eats element. Announced also a turtle that you can build a base on.
