I’ve been having so much fun playing Ark but by the gods it has some counter-intuitive stuff. I needed to learn some new Engram and I realized I wasn’t happy with my build, so I just created a new character. Surprise! By changing characters you don’t have access to that amazing base you’ve been building for two weeks or any of the dinos you tamed and you’ve been kicked out of the guild. I guess it makes sense overall but I had no idea it would remove any link to the guild or my base. So frustrating.

Greywind do you have admin control on the server? It’s possible to gain back levels and also re-gain ownership/control of objects and tribes.

We’ve had that happen a few times on the cluster, as many of us like to re-roll when a new map or dlc comes out, which sometimes locks you out of everything on the other servers in the cluster.

No admin. Looks like a have a couple of weeks before everything is deleted so I’ll just wait for someone to pop in!

Which version of the game? (Windows store, Steam, Epic, Xbox?) If Steam, you’re welcome to fire up on the QT3 cluster and we could give you things needed. We have a server of each DLC, and most maps with the exception of The Center.

I hear ya on the slow start. I think I first started playing on the old servers Grem and Ragan had and dying so much early on in Aberration that I seriously considered rage quitting and not logging back in. In particular I think I died maybe 20 times to a basilisk in the stupid starter zone. That plus they had the Ragnarok server still running and I was deathly afraid to tame dinos and constructed this thatch monstrosity on the beach, only to get camped in because of some agressive dino roaming outside the door. At the time it was terrifying.

Sloooowly it clicked with me though. The game has these plateaus of learning where you feel like you don’t have a grasp then suddenly you’re on easy street, then repeat.

I was able to get Greywind ownership issues fixed. He will have to reclaim everything, but at least he can still access his stuff and dinos.

Ok, so I may need some help. I finally figured out how to server travel (they never showed up for me and I had to add the servers manually to my favorites and in the Steam server list).

So I went to Extinction to look around and see if I could find an element node and none were up, or I couldn’t find any, and now I went to two different obelisks and there isn’t anything to interact with, that I can see, so I seem to be stuck here. I don’t know where to go to teleport back off this server. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

So I just kept wandering around and found a City Terminal… looks like that will work.

I updated all the server mods around 8am EST.

As for the Obelisk on Extinction, they are just prototype Arks. If you look at it carefully, the blue obelisk (underground forest) is a failed one. You can see from up in the air where something blew up and it all sank.

@Skipper, Aberration didn’t reload properly on a server restart and was reset. It looks like it happened several days ago since none of the server backups are good.

I’ve got a month old backup of the server (9/6/2020), do you have anything more recent?

Doh, I do not. I can ask them but if none of the ones on the server are okay that’s no beuno.

Feel free to transfer yours to the server. I have no issue with that one, We’ve probably had only minor changes?

I have some back and forth going on with them now and let them know the last probably check on it was last weekend or early this week. So, just prior to when the auto-backups overwrite each other.
