Yeah I am on the fence on this. I have put over 1k hours into ARK and plan on putting more into it. But man they still have bugs that have been with the game from the beginning.

Well the good news is that a rewrite for ARK II would require significant chunks to be redone. And one would hope (yeah right) that they apply a bigger and more experienced team with it. Like any of us will be able to step away from the crack pipe.
I just loaded ARK up on the new system yesterday but didn’t get to fire it up prior to leaving for a work trip this morning. I want to see what it looks like on the new GPU.

The one thing that comes to mind with WC using these big name actors is $$$$$$. Pretty sure Vin Diesel doesn’t come cheap.
In other Ark news, my boss march continues with Gamma Rockwell dying to my shotgun, solo to boot!
If you wear ghillie with cactus broth, nearly everything ignores you. I did kill a reaper king and nameless because they go to close.

@Ragan I’m sure you’re aware, but S+ updated yesterday and everything’s down until the servers update. Here’s hoping our bases aren’t deleted!
I noticed yesterday my little base down below in the Aberration zone on Valguero is gone. Also part of the base beside the cave entrance. Are the servers setup to not allow cave bases? Weird that it let me use them for a month and then deleted them.
Boss cave building tends to be frowned upon, on most servers (usually just when it blocks something important), but just building next to the entrance should be fine. That’s likely just a rollback mishap.

The settings allow that but it’s flaky due to patches sometimes affecting caves, etc. As an example, we had the old Stargate mod things in some of the caves for a while and in my opinion I think that caused more than one map crash and subsequent reload from saves.
Truly the same can be said about us building at or around the Obelisks. We do it anyway. Way too convenient.

@greywind, Midget, and myself took down Alpha Rockwell last night.
Time to move on to Extinction. I’m starting to do red OSD events in hopes of getting a better Mek blueprint. Purple OSD would probably have really good loot, but I think those would be insanely difficult, event with my boss fighting herd. Red OSD, the dinos are lvl 250 to 300. Purple they are lvl 400 to 800 (per the wiki).
Then and during that time, I’ll kill all the titans because trophies and loot. After I get a better Mek, I will start practicing taming the titans so I can do the King Titan fight.

Thanks for letting me join you Ragan. That was a lot of fun seeing Rockwell and I know getting all the entry stuff together was no easy task.
I have been following a little bit behind Ragan with getting a group of dinos together for bosses and trying them out on my own. Unfortunately I learned the hard way today that the item packager doesn’t discriminate when choosing trophies to package. After doing all three Island bosses on all three difficulties, the packager used my alpha trophies for the gamma Overseer package. My bad for having them all in the packager at my base at the same time I guess. Now I have to get everything together for three more alpha bosses. Grr.
