People can write questions up to May 15th, they will answer them in May 30th.
Meanwhile, they already have posted some “A2OA Facts And Figures”. Some interesting things. New to me (or perhaps interesting enough to cite) :
-IR strobes
-Reworked ui/hud (uh? it looks the same en sshots)
-backpacks can carry things like static weapons (mortars) and uav terminals
-helmet-mounted displays
-Improved weapon (multiple optics modes, range finders, step based zoom)
-Only 15 brand new weapons. What?? I supposed we would have a few dozens more!
-35 brand new vehicles, not counting the old ones reworked.
-new effects: shaking camera, SSAO
-integrated mod management (???)
-whispered version of voice comms
About the whole “what happens if you have both games”:
A2OA can also use the full content of ARMA 2 (if installed) to create an unsurpassed scale of modern military simulation.
* Maps of Chernarus and Takistan (5 maps in total) with their typical local civilian population - 440 square km, 80 cities and villages, 550 kms of roads
* 9 different army factions: US Army, US Marines, Russian Army, Takistani Army and militia, Chernarussian Defense Forces, Chernarussian insurgents and partisans, Takistani Guerrillas
* 150+ different weapons
* 100+ different vehicles
Will it be possible to use the original ARMA 2 content combined with new OA content?
* Yes. Users that already have ARMA 2 installed will be offered an option to install OA into it and run it as a combined, never seen before size and experience.
Coop in campaign will be a bit different
Will it be possible to play the campaign in multiplayer?
Of course. The four main characters are all present and can be played for in all campaign scenarios. The nature of cooperation will be different from ARMA 2, as the players aren’t part of the same groups. The scenarios are designed in a way which allows players to support each other’s advancement in the battle, and some story-related parts are simplified for the multiplayer, so that group of players can fully focus on the cooperative action.
DLC. Well, if they have the game opened to modding, whatever, they can make DLC and trying to win some extra $.
This time, we also have plan to release some significant DLC for OA, more details about these plans will be revealed later.
And they use a really horrible invented word: “Armaversum”. Ugh.
Also, they are making new builds of the beta, it seems they are working in optimization changes, i suspect the code they are testing with the betas will be both for arma 2 1.06 version and OA.
