Well, surely the review version is from three weeks ago, before the last improvements in the beta versions.

But, what was the score?

We’re not telling! Scores don’t matter, remember? :)

Well, czech game website doupe.cz (fairly reputable afaik) gave it also 8…

pluses - fun campaign, original missions, good tutorials, getting rid of most bugs

minuses - ocasional bug, relative shortness of campaign, complex controls (heh).

'Attaboy.

Danke. It’s an improvement, especially in the campaign. One more new module or feature would’ve meant a lot, but contextually: Bohemia is a dev that’s been making the same game on roughly the same tech for 10 years. We’re not going to see that much-needed change in performance in an expansion–if they’re going to do it, they’ll save it for ArmA 3, whenever that is.

Lord, I’ve put 240 hours into ArmA 2 in a year. I wonder how much I’ll drop into OA.

Actually Bohemia is stating in the last weeks that they are being a bit strangled financially. Their games are expensive to make, or at least they don’t sell enough, there isn’t a console version where lots of people have migrated in the last years, there is piracy in the computer version, etc.

That’s why they have announced DCL for Arrowhead, they want to see if it’s a viable business venture for this type of game.

First review in english. It’s really a czech review, translated by a guy in the forum, Deadfast

yeah that’s the one I posted about 3 posts above :P

though he dedicated quite a bit more time to that translation : )

Gamersgate have the game
http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-ARMA2OA/arma-2-operation-arrowhead

…great, entering through a american proxy, it’s 25$, but from Europe, it costs 30€. That’s 50% more expensive!
Well, i already have preordered it in play.com

They need to learn how to work their defense contracts better. :)

Will the gamersgate expansion work with a US Steam version of ARMA II?

People here are saying all the versions should be compatible.

But yeah, Bohemia should come and announce it clearly, as i think it’s going to be a very asked question. There are Steam, Gamersgate, sprocket, retail versions, localized versions in different languages, etc.

It shows as $39.95 to me.

From which country?

Wait… they changed the price! Oh well, now it’s “fair” for Europeans, as the raised the american price :P

Rommel (Ace2 dev) already has the game, he comments some features and show a few images [here](file://///nogal/SERVICIOS/Manu/ANIMACION%20PARA%20CURSOS/Adobe%20CS4/Patch+Crack/amtlib.dll%20%28x32%29/amtlib.dll)

User video from OA, all about Hueys!

New official video, showing a bit the tools for nigh Ops

M14!

Proper battle sights (ironsight/aimpoint above optical sight, both usable)

Bohemia skips 1.06 version, jumps to 1.07 version for Arma 2, will be released today! (basically the last beta patch made official, i suppose). Don’t update if you play multi, the server files won’t be released until Monday, it seems.

And official page updated (new factions from OA included, some vehicles and weapons)

Wish it would look that good in my computer without running at 1 FPS.

If the new patch has those memory use enhancements I will definitely pick it up. I was going to try a beta patch and then heard about all the problems people had with glitches and popping.

Is Steam ever going to get a patch? I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting. Makes me not want to buy on Steam again.

Also, did they fix the vehicle explosions? Where after a vehicle is destroyed it explodes, or at least the sound of it exploding, happen every few minutes? That was by far the most annoying bug to me. Ruined the aural atmosphere completely.

You mean it keeps exploding every few minutes? i don’t think that’s a bug.

I suppose this will be the patch that will be used to update the Steam version.

BTW, it’s already out in the forums.

El Guapo, perhaps are you referring to the secondary explosions of the vehicle wrecks??
