Ugh, I missed the last vote, but you’ve all given the game away by not taking the stags. At a minimum they would have been 4 honor per cycle, which is about the same return you can expect on 3 HI.

More importantly, now that you’re both going for power, the center row monsters will dry up soon. Mark my words - you’ll be stuck with the Askara dead in your hand and no monsters to use it on. After getting that early with no power in your deck and a lot of starting cards banished, you should have committed to it and stayed away from power to maximize the chances that there would always be something to banish.

Unless something changes on his turn, Buy a Stag, Kill the Noxious Soul, don’t banish the Warrior.

The Askara is not dead in your hand if it banishes a card Jakeb wants. The points it gives from banishing monsters are gravy.

In boring regular league news.

ddtibbs over Boojum
ddtibbs over Wheeljack

Personally I’d take the Noxious and banish everything else. Try to get our deck back to something that has a chance.
In the spirit of cooperation I’ll offer that keeping the Mystic and even the cursed Deathsworn Is OK as long as we avoid those Damnable Stags.
Apprentice? You’re already dead to me.

The points from banishing monsters are the only reason that card is playable. Banishing a non-monster to deny it from the opponent is good to have as an occasional option, but a last resort because it turns it into an incredibly overpriced / non-self-replacing Seer of the Forked Path.

I think we should be psyched about being able to kill a Noxious Soul. Those things are nasty. Playing a hand where you only have 4 cards can be quite limiting.

EDIT: Yeah, I’d rather have a Seer of the Forked path in this situation, but no one is giving me a pony, either. When my opponent has a deck with lots of potential synergy if he can get a few critical cards, I’ll take what banishing I can get.

I agree with this, Buy a Stag, Kill the Noxious Soul, don’t banish the Warrior.. We’re too thin rune wise on anything above a 5 rune creature.

Don’t even banish the Apprentice? madness… The lowest I’ll go is to keep the DW & use the Mystic to get another HI.

I think we should Kill noxious Soul and banish apprentice for sure. We still have 2 turns to buy some mystics if need be.

I’m not sure we should buy another HI, that really depends on what’s underneath the soul. Might be better we waste the 2 runes. Also, the Askara’s got to be fed.

Yup, agree with general consensus.
Kill Nox, Banish apprentice, take HI.

If we’re going to get a mystic soon anyway I think it’s better for the same cost to Grab the stag. The soul is going to leave him with 4 cards so barring a lucky draw in his hand he won’t be able to do much with that board.

Jake took a stag and then a great omen raven that popped up below it. Continue debate!

Kill the Noxious. Banish everything else.

The Raven is bad news because he has Honey Sirens.
Kill the Noxious Soul. Do not banish the Apprentice when we play the Warrior.
What next depends on what’s behind the Noxious Soul, but otherwise Take the Elder Skeptic.
We want the hand-shuffling, and just as significantly, we don’t want him to have it. Lifebound Unite LOVES hand shuffling.

Kill Nox, Apprentice lives for another day. Take Elder Skeptic unless…well, nothing. I can’t think of a better card for 3 runes.

Agreed.

Also agreed. Nox->Skeptic.

We seem to be on the path of constructing a rather Elderly deck.

What He Said +1

Noxious killed, but now a little decision! I’d hate to draw one of our good cards unless we want to shoot for the new Askara.
