I agree. Use SCE to stack the deck with a HI. Use AOF to banish Tarik (get him off the board) and draw 2 cards. If we draw 2 HI, use them to kill FT; if one, kill the Minotaur. Use the skeptic to banish the remaining monster. Of course, this depends on what we find under Tarik, or the monster we kill.

Can we get any agreement on the first two steps? SCE to put HI on the top of the deck, and AOF to banish Tarik and draw cards? Then see what we have?

I like it.

Loving the back and forth among the hive mind over this game. Thanks all.

As for the end of the month score reporting…one last one for me. jaygittings > scottdobros

I’m OK with banishing Tarik, since hoping for a really good card to copy and drawing 2 Heavy Infantry is a low-probability play. I’d still banish the Abolisher myself, but I don’t feel strongly about it.

Catching up!

Interesting! We could save Tarik and play the Skeptic. Of the 7 cards in Jake’s hand and draw pile, 4 are Apprentici. His next turn is unlikely to be powerful, save the Soul Gem and the Genie’s power. Still, I think we should banish Tarik. I’ll give it a few minutes in case someone wants to chirp.

Wait, let’s banish the other 6 monster, and then banish Tarik with our Askara.

Banish Tarik with Askara of Fate. Or the Abolisher. But not the Fire Tyrant.
If we draw another Heavy Infantry with the Skeptic, the Fire Tyrant is more likely to be a good target. Right now, Tarik has nothing good to copy, the Tyrant is worth 6, and makes him discard a card.
We can always banish the Tyrant with the Eternal Askara if we don’t get another HI.

EDIT: Also, I count 5 mouths on the Fire Tyrant. Which is really weird on a dragon.

So many mouths!!!

At first, I found it weird. Now the mouth thing is a charming quirk.

Kill the Minotaur?

Discard an Apprentice. We want the HI, the Eternal Askara is worth 3 points to us, and we’re not excited about buying anything with runes anyway.

And yeah, Kill the Minotaur.

Discard APP
Kill Minotaur

Polaris Demon is good card for us. He has 2 3star constructs and we have none.
Buy GoS and something else, we need stars somehow/someway.

This means the Deathsworn is gone for sure!! and takes the two APPs with it.

I’m scared of him killing the Fire Tyrant, and screwing us next turn. With no constructs of our own, Polaris Demon is just a bag of points for him, and if he doesn’t kill it we might be able to use it against him.

Discard App, Kill minotaur, banish Tyrant, see what’s left.

Same here. OK, I already said the first two, but banishing the Tyrant is the likely move unless killing the Minotaur uncovers something interesting.

I doubt we will get 2 runes by playing our Minotaur right now. Hunker down with Guardian and HI?

Guardian and HI
or Guardian, Monk, maybe?

None of the above!
Buy a Mystic.
There’s only one 5 point monster on the board, which Jakeb may kill defensively because he doesn’t have any banishing power.
The Guardian is highly likely at this point to be a Militia.
I’d rather have a Mystic than a Grease Monk.
I don’t like the Abolisher this late in the game, it ends up being another Apprentice.
Runes are more attractive now with two Mechana on the board.

Bah.

I don’t like taking Guardian and HI, but I don’t see anything I like better.

2+ card stars we won’t draw for a bit beats a Mystic we won’t draw for a while in my book
The Monk looks like it could be useful and there could always be another 1star under there…

Because there are attractive options for our opponent, I’d take the Guardian just to open up yet another, so that we have an extra option on our turn. I’d take the Guardian.
