Damn damn damn damn. Thought I had that one.
Cosmic Protocol can be so unfair. With Pacman in the playoffs it was giving him gifts. In my most recent game with Soonanother, currently underway, I received all the gifts. I nabbed Driller Mk VI using fanatics only, put it directly into play, took PRIME out of my discard, nabbed Dream Engine and put it directly into play, and used a fanatic and a few Runes to grab Cog Maw. That’s 19 points of Mechana in one turn.

From a first turn Shadowcaster on things just went my way, and there was no real chance for soon to keep up, despite some pretty nice late turns.
That sounds similar to my game with soonanother, except it didn’t quite work out for me. I had an early Shadowcaster and Nihlmancer, and used them to trim my Lifebound-heavy deck into an unstoppable machine in about 6 turns. I went to bed with nearly a 30 point lead and about 30 left in the honor pool. When I woke up in the morning, I saw that the game was OVER and I lost! Moment of Clarity + Aiyanna combined with a steady flow of Enlightened + Lifebound cards = BAD NEWS.

Yowch, that’s nasty. Moment of Clarify often has only a minor effect. Lots of times I’ll only have enough for a 3 or 4 point Blue, and I’ll draw another 1-2 Runes which aren’t enough to make a difference. But with Aiyanna putting up the fire sale on hero cards, you could practically go for as long as the center row keeps turning over blues.
Yeah, we should put them in the Ascension thread for last month’s or something.

Given the havoc Soonanother is raising with the Orb of Nyx, I no longer feel the least bit guilty about the Cosmic Protocol. Damn, that card is broken.
Ok, finished the pre-existing game with Annie, so I have sent an invite for our playoffs match, other playoff games all underway or finished.
Lost that game to SoonAnother. 30 cards on his last turn, by my count. Mostly Soul Gems, of course.

Speaking of the Orb of Nyx, JF over Gus, 97-75.
Yeah, that game sucked. I was being purer in my Mystic acquisition, and yet you nabbed the Orb very, very early. I knew it was over at that point, but slogged on regardless.
