Sept league: soonanother over sinnick

I thought I was done for in that one, in the early game I was constantly a step behind you. Then the board turned and stayed red, and my heavy infantries won the day. Good game!

I most certainly did not! I had to banish him to keep it out of your mitts after you got the Orb of Nyx. I did have a Soul Marshall and 2 Soul Askaras, so I can see how it might appear as if I did. I’m not quite sure how I was even competitive in that game considering I didn’t even have a single deck-culling card while you had a moderately culled deck, Orb of Nyxia, World Tree, Reclaimer, and Sabre. The Acidic Crawlers and Growmites certainly helped. But it just made the whole thing that much more depressing for me when you drew the Orb on the last turn and blew me away with Soul Gems. Fun game nonetheless.

Oh, whoops, need to pay more attention. Yeah, you did a good job of preventing me from getting all the constructs rolling at the same time, and monopolized all the lifebounds so I couldn’t get that much advantage from Sabre or the Tree.

I think I’m not buying any more physical cards. I bought the first three sets, and tried it out with my wife and mother-in-law, my only usual real-game opponents. My wife would rather play Dominion (boo!) and my mother-in-law seems adverse to learning anything new now - last time we played, it was all Acquire and Ticket to Ride.

I am having a ball playing best-of-##s with various people here, and thought I would make an official side tournament. It’s a great way to get extra games in if the league isn’t satisfying your itches, plus each series has its drama and momentum, and you get to feeling like you’re making a Qt3 pal.

I’m not sure what this side thing should be called, but perhaps a name for it will evolve…

I nominate Nemesis League.

I’m not in yet, tho. Maybe soon.
