I think the version of the game you’re playing also has an affect on the positional advantage. SoS+IH, probably moreso, because of the first turn combos that can turn up and give you a good lead before P2 can even do anything about it. Rise of Vigil definitely has a first player advantage, as they get first shot at energy shards.

It’s probably more even in the older decks.

I’m pretty sure that the VERY SCIENTIFIC study we did as a group ended up being that going first (X) won as often as (going second (Y) + ties(Z) and as such balanced out the first/second advantage.

Gotcha, so the “ties going to 2P” settles all the issues with who goes first, and so my post was all a big unnecessary waste of time writing up a novel on a small little iPhone. :)
