I feel like it’s time to repost this from last January:

Once upon a Friday rainy
While I laboured, bored and brainy
Sending mail and doing other work that I abhor
While I squinted, red eyes stinging
Suddenly there came a dinging,
As of my phone gently ringing; an Ascension turn in store!
“Tis some random game” I muttered “This Ascension turn in store.
Only this and nothing more.”

Red eyes rolling, mind disdaining,
I succumbed to ascertaining
Who amongst my foes was feigning such a challenge to my score
Feeling quite enthusiastic
I took up my phone too spastic
And (trajectory fantastic) sent it spinning to the floor.
It slid off the desk and cracked down hard and fast upon the floor
Near my wooden office door.

Picking up the phone and turning
It to face me, my face burning,
It presented me a sight that I had never seen before
On the screen, like strange arcana,
I perceived a split banana
Playing cards and gaining mana unlike anything before.
Playing ev’ry single lifebound card with plenty more in store
While I stood and stared and swore.

Then without a word of warning
Nor with pride or taunts adorning
He revealed an Omen Raven, thus thrice honouring his score
Not the slightest sense of friction
Slowed the accurate prediction
Nor my whispered benediction to show mercy to my score.
I kept hoping that he’d incorrectly guess what was in store.
Only this, I did implore

Yet those birds, despite my praying,
Still are playing, still are playing,
And the points the split banana owns have tripled, thrice and more
And their eyes are black and gleaming
At the Henge Queen, who is scheming
To abolish the redeeming that I’d once been hoping for
And my status as the winner of this tournament of yore
Shall be Ascended – Nevermore!

This feels like sinnick’s month to me! Our game made me want to write Ascension slash fiction.

That last game was over before it started - when you grab unite-able lifebounds in the first round, you’re going to kick some ass! Well done!
