I think everyone is super intimidated by me, and no one relishes the idea of me squashing them in a 19+ game series. That’s the theory I am going with as I struggle to explain why no one has challenged me for the Unicorn.

So here’s a new rule: To challenge for the unicorn, you’ll play a 3-game series, win by 2 games. If the unicorn holder wins, then the 3-games becomes 4-games for the next challenge, and so on. Once someone has taken the unicorn, this resets to a 3-game series.

Here’s how I reworded the rules just now in the original post. Do they make sense?

First player to win three games wins the unicorn (but must win by two games, as in ping pong or volleyball). Every time the unicorn holder successfully defends, the number of games needed to win increases by one. Reset to three games if the unicorn changes hands.

Yeah, I went Infantry heavy because it seemed like the best option and then you ended up stealing all the juicy monsters. I was surprised I kept it that close. Good games!

Sorry if this was already asked and answered but I didn’t see it in the FAQ. Is this league playing just the base game or are you guys using the expansions as well? I’ve just started playing online with the base game and would be interested in playing with you guys.

It’s challenger’s-choice, though most choose some combination of the expansions more than the base game. I, for one, am not adverse to playing base game matches. I find it refreshingly old school.

I’d be happy to play base games also. In fact, I’d prefer a base deck game to the crazy “throw every single deck together in one giant mess” games that the kids these days seem to think is “cool”. BTW, I think you’d find it frustrating to join the league if you don’t have at least all of the expansions (promo cards are optional), because you’ll keep getting challenges from players with decks you don’t own, but you should feel free to throw out some challenges just for fun.

Anyhow, definitely shoot me a game invite at ‘bigdruid’.
