lots of early banishing - always a good thing

AT > ColonelT
I thought you and your Aiyana and Axe had that one. Really enjoyed that game but felt pretty behind your curve.

GG Pastose… Can’t believe I lost with old man Dhartha plus pathwarden plus all that banishing in my favor.

Here’s what I’m thinking for April:

Everyone will be thrown into the Pit to begin with, and you’ll play two games, one against each of your neighbors, as if the Pit is a Circle. One day timers, so you’ll have to play two games every three days or so. Anyone who wins both games will climb up into the next Circle, one level higher than the Pit, while everyone else stays in the Pit. We repeat this process, and in any round, anyone who wins both games ascends to the next Circle, anyone who loses both drops a level, and anyone who forfeits both games will be dropped, and if they want to rejoin, they can simply say so, and re-enter in the Pit.

This game is, after all, called Ascension! It’s about time that we brought this word to life with our league. I also like that people can easily join in late if they want.

I have a few questions to work out, like when and how does it end, and what to do if someone is at a level alone or with just one other person. But I thought I’d run this idea past everyone a week early in case anyone wants to make a suggestion or offer a criticism. I’m especially concerned about what I bolded above. I mean, I know I can make two games in three days happen routinely, and I’m pretty positive that most everyone can, but can everyone who wants to play do this?

The concept sounds very interesting. However, I’m not sure about 1-day timers. I’m not fond of games where someone loses due to time expiring.

Yeah, I like the concept, but I’m unable to participate with day timers due to the large timezone difference with most of you.

Three-day timers might be okay? I’m in one way or the other and I havent even read the post, haha. Maybe I’ll change my mind after I read it. :-p

Hey Dave, read it over now. First q is, who would make the playoffs? Would it be those at the highest level of piti-ness (haha), or something else like the total record for the month?

Is this basically like a circle tourney without elimination?
