Not sure if you have tried this, but it worked for me. After sitting and staring at the creating account thing for ~20 minutes, I ended the app manually (shut it down and restart it, not just exit out). Then when I entered the stuff for creating again, it worked right away (tells you to check your email for confirmation email).

I think it was supposed to go to point differential if that happened?

This approach worked for me as well.

timothys over pastose

I think it should be decided by the three-way, since I won that. :) Failing that, I defeated OpkOpk 67-59. I don’t have the results from my match with Justin anymore - woe to him if he forgets to report the point difference.

Needed to use a different e-mail account.

No woe here: Our game was 97-71.

And opkopk defeated me. :)

OK, that makes it:
JF over Gus +26
Gus over opk +8
opk over JF +7

Looks to me like you’re the man Justin.

So it’s Justin and myself in the finals then? Now I just have to get my mind back to regular, non-crazy soul gem Ascension :-p

What are people thinking about Immortal Heroes so far? I am seeing some crazy swingy games. But I think part of that is playing just with IH, so nothing to dilute those cards. But the Soul Gems increase the randomness of the game as there is a slight difference between getting, say, Master Dhartha vs a mechana initiate.

What a weird system for Playdeck to both forcing in Ascension (given that they are losing the license). At least I got to keep my GC name. I guess there aren’t too many jaygittings around.

IH is a weird one for sure. The soul gems are really throwing me for a loop. Tough to plan around them.

I think the cards are fun overall and there seems to be a nice balance at first glance. I’m not so sure about the Soul Gems. They are a fun element to me because I have a general love of randomness, but I think they may turn out to be a somewhat frustrating strategic wild card. I would hesitate to base a strategy around them if I have the choice. It’s nice that Soul Gems aren’t forced upon you, though. The Mechana Constructs seem interesting with cycling Recycle dudes. I think I like the event cards in this version better than SoS, especially things like drawing cards when you purchase blue cards.

I scooped up the delirium name by the way, so I’ll be referred to as such for now on in the game. Seems like there’s a lot of availability on name choices right now.

Also, Growmites - I’m a big fan.

Love it, but then again i was dying for some extra cards after playing so long with the old sets.
Although i’m playing IH as the only set now vs random internetplayers (to explore the set a bit), i think SoS and IH is the best way to play it now.
What i like best are the new events tbh, and the more regular pace in which they show up/ change. I realize there are some people on these who hate the events though :)

I also think this (soulgems) is as far as Ascension can go with the luck factor. I played some rl games with Rise of Vigil, which i absolutely hate because of it.

Whoops. It’s mentioned in the detail text for the IH IAP, not the rule book. And it says IH can be played with 2 players, and suggests playing it with SoS.

Played a spasm of deck 4 games last night and now that I know the cards pretty well I’m thinking I’ll start playing decks 3&4 more than just 4 by itself. 1&2 were designed to go together and 3&4 seem to go together quite well too.

Anyone against making July games all 3&4 so we all get it out of our system? Then we can settle into the year long malaise of playing the same old decks until Stoneblade (hopefullly) releases their version with all six (by that time) decks?

I’m for doing 3 & 4. Of course, I’m weird, I like playing 1 & 3 together.

Man, the soul gems are wildly random and potentially unbalanced. Often enough I’ll get something that has little current value, like an Avatar Golem when I have no constructs and no other power in my hand that turn. Just now I got Master Dhartha. It’s almost like including Vedah Sage of Swords in a regular deck, when that card really needs to be a goofy promo card since the effects are so random.

That’s an interesting idea, and I wonder what people think.

Annie and I stayed up all night playing deck 4 games and I’ll say that by itself it’s pretty unbalanced and streaky. I’m not big on card names so bear with me here.
The Green card that costs 5 white and you get a free hero costing five white or less is way overpowered in this deck. There’s enough sub five cost heroes just sitting there all the time. On the flipside the blue hero that costs 5 white and lets you kill a sub five red monster is less useful because the deck doesn’t have enough useful monsters in that price range. Mixing with deck 3 mitigates those imbalances. It’s possible to really go Mechana and mixing back with deck 3 balances that out more too.
